for people like me who use emulators, the sound becomes more of a nuisance than an actual feature. since emulators are sped up using a throttle, the sound itself also gets sped up, which results in more or less a static than actual BGM.no sounds for me. heck i'd rather listen to radio static than turn the sound on.

Sometimes I care about the sound especially if it is very good to hear.

I seem to have the largest problem with Metroid Fusion when I have the sound on. It's horrible too because Metroid has always been one to those game series with the best soundtracks. I also seem to have some issues with Final Fantasy IV, but I think that's just because I toggle the speed up a whole bunch on old RPG ports because... honestly I earned those exp points the hard way years ago and don't need to sit through those battles at normal speed to get into the good endgame stuff 20~40 hours in.

I always play with the sound on. It makes the game a lot more immersive, and a good number of games have audio cues.

It's pretty rare for me to even bother turning the sound on in most gba games. The sound loops are pretty often just plain annoying and add nothing to the experience. Of course there are a few games where that's not the case.

I happen to be a musical fanatic, so I care a great deal about thesound quality of a game. The music in a game is meant to add a tonal quality to the game andenhance the emotional messages (if any) of the game.Imagine a movie without music. It would be rather egregious in the standings, would it not.Note that music was added to movies before any voices were (checkout Charlie Chaplin for proof)

I love listening to The sound on Games!!! Especially Golden SunThe sound on that game is brilliant!!! but yeah you're rightthe sound on games like pokemon its worth having the sound dead silentor if you are using an emulator, with some real music playing instead...

i always play the games in mute... cannot really stand the music. And because emulator allows fast forward... if i turn on the sound and i fast forward, it becomes very annoying. but overall i think the music for gba is not very good. not even for a game which has good reputation of having great music such as lunar

Sound in GBA sucks, period. I turn it off always. However, I still don't know how can SNES' Sound be so much better, being really older itself.
