Psh, easy one. The subtitles are soo much better. English dubs suck, they don't have enoughe emotions and it seems like they're just reading right off of the script....which they pretty much are.

subbed versions are the best..like some have said, the japanese ones have more emotions and feelings in them when u listen to them even tho u r reading.

the dubs just dont have the correct feeling. and they change the words around like in naruto the made him repeat the phrase "believe it." a horribly annoying phrase. and in japanese it just sounds more authentic.

I don't have a preference--I could watch both sub and dub just fine. But I have to find out what company made the English dub first before I watch it (4kids and Nirvana, I'm looking at you! Stupid butchers, they know no shame)Naruto's dubbing in the late episodes don't seem too bad compared to the earlier dubs because I have seen worse. I haven't watch the Death Note dub yet, so I check that out tonight.Japanese dubbing is not always the best either, but they don't hit or miss as much as the English version when finding actors to match the characters.

I agree with the majority. When they use the English subs, they sound awful... I much prefer the original voices and sounds. ^^

Japanese voice with English subtiles all the way. I completely avoid dubs now, except for a couple exceptions (Bleach - once in a while, and Death Note - the dub isnt too bad. They even kept the original opening and closing!)

I prefer Subs over dub because I can't stand how some names/techniques etc are spelled by english voice actors.

You know, even though I think Japanese voices are definitely better than the American dubs, there are some good American dubs, like Pani Poni Dash's or FLCL. Maybe it's just having seen those two first in the American dub... but if you listen to the Japanese voice acting for both, they seem to not have that... craziness that the Americans bring to the characters. I dunno. Just my opinion. :P

i think it depends, some of the amimes have been dubbed very good, but still i'm more on the side of eng dub, XD sometimes that the character speaks fast so is to the sub, it's a hassel to rewind and pause , just to read the sub.

ow, I hate if someone dub an anime with so horrible voice. Even though some of the dub is good I like the original (japanese) better -with subtitle of course-

i don't understand why people still insist on whining about dub versus sub. with modern dubbing techniques the higher profile shows actually are better to watch then watching the sub because you don't constantly get distracted by looking at the bottom of the show and then back up at the actual show. also most of them actually have decent voice casts, and a lot of the time the japanese over play the emotions, i remember more then one time when i was watching samurai champloo sub laughing at how over acted the characters seemed, thats being said the rest of the time i loved champloo in sub and i've yet to see the dub anyway but i assume that i'd be able to enjoy it just as much and probably more. i understand that a lot of older anime(by older i mean like 15years) had problems with cheesy cast and butchered dialogue but that was a problem of the past, and the dubs just seem to be getting better for most shows. but then i guess this is a public platform and who's to say that any of you care about my opinion but then mine is mine and yours is yours so... also people that whinge about how it makes it more original annoy me, i mean cartooning and anime are the only media types that can be properly dubbed, live action always ends up horrendously off time.
