english dub is just annoying. they don't express everything right and it makes the most serious anime into a comedy. I rather have the english subs.

subs are of course much better since seiyuu (voice actor) is what gives the spirit of a char.

Japanese subs ftw. The english dubs sometimes sound weird, the japanese voice actors are best suited for the character.

I agree with you. English voice really sucks. I prefer to watch Japanese voice anime along with english subtitles. Some of the great animes have been ruined only by their english voice. Like, for example, Naruto. The Japanese version was really cool. And just look at Sasuke's english's voice! Harsh, for me. So, I prefer Japanese animes with english subtitles.

I think it all depends on how your watching it. If your like me and have anime on your iPod you want the english Dub because subtitles are hard to read on that tiny screen. If your watching online you most likely want subs, cuz the japanese voices just sound cool. Also if the video is low quality and you cant read the subs you might also want an english dub.The most important thing though is to NEVER EVER make the opening and ending songs english. I mean did anyone see One Piece.

Eh, it depends on the anime for me. For example, I hated the Fruits Basket dub a lot, the Get Backers dub was all right but I preferred the original subbed, but I loved the Hellsing dub a lot more than the subtitled version. I'm pretty iffy on the Fullmetal Alchemist dub, although two of the voice actors signed my cast when I went to Otakon post-arm surgery (I didn't ask them to, they offered).

I think we all know the answer to this battle. Of course Japanese subs are going to walk all over English dubs, because no offence, dubs are completely fake and unrealistic. But I must applaud the dubs for Shaman King (not all of the time), Dragonball Z (later on in the series), and Sailor Moon (later on in the series)Pokemon... Hmmm... Well the voices were so overly exaggerated... But I didn't really care I guess.

The Digimon dubs were really good but overall jap voices are better. I think it's mostly what you start with. If you start in one and switch to the over it's kinda weird.

I prefer Jap voice with english subs. English dubs somehow doesn't fit. They sorta miss all the emotions in the character and plus it sounds weird hahahha

I prefer original japanese anime with subtitles. Honestly, some english dub ruins the anime bigtime.

I can't stand the English dubs. The voice actors have horrible expression and enunciation that just sounds awful. The script is also butchered just as badly and often changed completely. Just like anything else, the original is always the best.

I must say the Subbed are best. But, there are exceptions such as Dragonball Z and Cowboy Bebop.
