I say World of Warcraft is better, as it's an MMORPG, based off of Warcraft 3. Although, if it weren't for the fact you can interact with others in WoW... my vote would go towards Warcraft3.

Warcraft III. I could never really play WoW, bought a 2 month membership ended up playing around 1 1/2 weeks, couldn't get into it. But I could sit infront of a computer for hours just playing Warcraft III which has happened o.O

World of Warcraft, love the game, although it can be very addicting at times, but i think it is still a great game!

i prefer warcraft 3 and hope that they'll come up with a warcraft 4. nevertheless, it doesn't seem like it...they're just expanding the WOW series ( ex : wrath of the lich king)

For me, both seem to have their advantages and disadvantages:World of Warcraft over Warcraft III:- Warcraft III does not have much to offer once you complete the game other than repetitive multi-player and hunting down custom user created campaigns- World of Warcraft just seems to go on forever due to more content being added by blizzard or trying to get that extra special piece of equipment which makes you a tad bit stronger. Replayability is infinite with this game and the actual world will take an insanely long time to fully explore.- You can "choose" your class. In Warcraft III's campaign mode, you are stuck with the class you are given during the current level of the game. I really hated the night elves yet I was forced to endure the final levels with them. The undead was the BEST campaign in the game for me, hands down (simply because you didn't need to wait for buildings to be built. You could summon them quickly and continually until you massed an army of destrutive towers)- More inventory and equipment slots (but then again, that's to expected by an adventure game but was still annoying when you had no room for healing items because your inventory was full of stat boosting artifacts in Warcraft III).Warcraft III over World of Warcraft:- Single player mode. It always bothered me that WoW did not have an offline Sandbox style single player mode much like Diablos II and Sacred 2 - Fallen Angel. Since the game theoretically continues the story of Warcraft III, it would have been nice for people that do not wish to fork over a monthly payment and several hours worth of team based raiding to be able to play the game at their own pace. Warcraft III lets you pause and resume the game at any time which is very nice to have. World of Warcraft will happily continue without you (being away from keyboard and then having a mob respawn in front of you (or on P2P servers, a player from the opposite faction stroll by) and gank you sound familliar to anyone?)- This is more of true "Warcraft" game. I've always known Warcraft to be in the real time strategy genre and NOT an MMORPG. It's been that way since the very first game. World of Warcraft deviates from that concept drastically and there really hasn't been a true "Warcraft" game ever since because of its popularity.- Landscape isn't "padded". Although I said above that World of Warcraft is massive and will take a long time to explore, a lot of the important areas are padded with nothingness as in areas with nothing worthwhile in them. I guess it make sense to do this in order to avoid the game from becoming overly crowded. On the other hand, you can't exactly visit anywhere you want in Warcraft III. You are limited to the map you are currently playing.

Warcraft 3 was amazing, i remember the chills i used to get when they released that cutscene so many years ago. But WoW is a tough one to beat.

WoW you have to pay to play, and it's kinda hard to pick up and play because of the items required, lvling up, etc etc. Warcraft 3 is much easier because you can just play one game. so war3 for me.

I like both games, but World of Warcraft is too in-depth for me. I'm more of a casual gamer so Warcraft III is better for me. Especially since there are always new custom games coming out all the time, so you never get bored.

Warcraft 3 all the way. I don't like big MMO's as they take heaps of time to play and are so repetitive. I can only gather so many boar tusks before I snap.

I like Warcraft 3, I don't really like the concept of not only having to buy a disc, but also pay $15 a month just to play an MMO.

World of Warcraft is worth it if you're willing to pay the cash. Way better then Warcraft III. Especially when the online games on The Frozen Throne are so lame. DotA has gotten so bad and it's not even fun anymore.

Depends on my mood. I actually have both, and I play WoW more often, so I suppose that would be my preference. It's hard to compare because they're so different, even though they're set in the same universe/world or whatever.

Well, I liked the story more in Warcraft, because WoW simply butchered it. However, there is just something really appealing abou vast stretches of land each with a theme. Exploration is one of my favorite elements out of any games. It was good however, that I quit WoW.
