I actually bought a kit that came with game cases, screen protecters, and extra stylus's. I would recommend that you get a screen protecter because to the styous can scrathc the screen and make is harder to see the touch screen if playing a game.

No, I didn't buy a screen protector when I bought my DS. I still haven't bought a screen protector for my DS, I just don't mind minor scratches and I take care of my DS so nothing bad has happened to it.

I'm getting a (used) DSi XL tomorrow and I've already bought a screen protector. It's cheaper to replace than a scratched screen.

I've never bothered, I think some resistance was already built into the DS screen by Nintendo.

Both my screens are protected. I'd rather have them working and the outer case scratched then not have the screens work.

Yep, from day 1 I had it on. It did have one small air bubble but it didn't affect gameplay at all. Surprisingly I only used one screen protector for the two years I had it, but I suppose the games I played didn't involve excessive screen touch (barring elite beat agents).

I like to cut overhead transparencies to the size of the touchscreen. Then put a drop of water on the screen, put the transparency on, and rub the bubbles out. Doesn't last as long as some of the commercial screen protectors but I don't feel bad about tossing them out since you can get 10 from a single transparency sheet.

I never bother with them for my new ds as I always end up with bubbles and the bubbles annoy me more than the dirts dose for some reason, so I got a little cloth that I use to clean the screen when it gets to dirty.

I never got a screen protector, that ain't the biggest of my problems...my top screen is completely broken. I should probably just get a new DS :)

No I did not. I did purchase one afterwards and you would think the DS would be a little bit more durable. My old DS before it eventually broke had quite a bit of dead parts of the touchscreen from TWEWY. Between the old ones gathering dust between the L and R I'm a little bit disappointed that it takes so much upkeep to make sure it won't mess up, especially considering the reason people buy these as opposed to consoles is that they are portable.
