I remember in the early days of Console gaming, some games were just impossible hard. They would make games that were obviously not even play tested. Some games would be near impossible because of one particular place in the game. This eventfully became less of an issue but there are still a few games released that are near impossible to complete.- Top Gun NES : landing on the aircraft carrier was at best a crap shoot. I could never get this right, Then on the rare occasion that I did land that stupid plane they would make you do it again the next level. Oh yeah and then there was that refueling plane, another near impossible obstacle.- Double Dragon 3 : Just Impossible. enough said- Super Ghost and Goblins SNES : This game just would get increasing harder and harder. It didn't help that the Game started as a Hard Game. I was never able to finish this game. Also if you spent enough time to make it anywhere in the game and had to quit for any reason, you would have to start all over.- Ninja Gaidan Xbox : Holy Crap this game was just obscene with its difficulty. Every fight seemed like a boss fight, it was relentless and if you managed to defeat one boss those same tactics would be useless against the next boss. The developers had to be laughing knowing that the gamers who bought this game were likely to pull there hair out trying to complete it.So in your opinion what were the games that were just "Too Hard"? And what made the game so hard?

The first Harry Potter game (for PC, at least) had a rather strange tendency to overuse death pits. So it's just a little too tough for me.

I yesterday went and picked up a copy of EA Madden 08 for the Nintendo Wii. the game doesn't look as good as the 360, or PS3, but is quite serviceable. But the control scheme is quite difficult. The stiff are and juke seem to be non-intuitive. This game may just be directed at a younger audience that isn't unable to adopt new game play techniques. being that I'm nearly 3 decades old the Wiis waggle controls just don't feel fluid to me.- Running Routes seems difficult and not very tight- Running after the Catch only creates a problem when a Juke or stiff arm is needed.- Running a Draw Play is the same as running after the catch.- Passing routines this may be the easiest part of the game. being a mobile quarterback allows you time to find the open receivers.- Kicking game not bad and I feel that I have a little more control then I had in previous versions of Madden on older consoles- Defensive line & Linebackers this is position takes a little to get used to but overall not to difficult.- Defensive Backs this position reminds me much of the running position, I have a hard time executing the a jump or swat move. and keeping a receiver covered is difficult.Right now John Madden 08 for the Wii is just Hard! Main do to the new control scheme that I'm not quite used to.

Everyone will laugh, but I never got past the wherehouse stage of Max Payne. And this was just recently when I picked it up in a $3 bin. I still have no desire to ever go back to that game. On the same note, back in the day my buddy bought Game Genie just so we could get past the hoverbike level of Battletoads.

Anyone ever play Earthworm Jim 3D? I would love to meet someone who actually got passed Psycrow, I never did. And for those who didn't play it, Psycrow was the first boss. I think I gave up playing my N64 after that game.
