This was easily the best racing game for the PS1, and in many ways, the best of the Crash series in my opinion. Here was a game that was just like the oh-so-awesome Mario Kart, except it added new twists and ideas to distinguish itself from being a generic clone. Plus, with almost every character in the Crash universe to play as, picking this one up was a no brainer. My personal best is N. Tropy, but my is it a pain to unlock him. I did it once long ago and kept the Memory Card, so I'd never have to do it again.And then, after all that hard work of unlocking everyone, I discover there's simple code inputs you can do on the menu to immediately unlock everyone

OMG OMG OMG CTR was the ultimatum of all racing games during its prime. I f'ing aced every track, got Platinum on everything for time trial. I owned that game over every1 else. The downy thing is for a dude who mastered such an amazing game i suck at every other racing car game there is (except maybe GT 2) but those are the only two racing games I can win at. Even Mario Kart is hard for me.BUT CTR was THE checkpoint for every racer out there. Swamped the floor with Mario KArt 64 in my books.
