I played the Harvest Moon games until Harvest Moon 64. After that I just got bored with the series. I'll occasionally play the SNES and 64 versions, but not at great lengths as I used to.

Yeah, I agree. It's really fun to play when you're bored or have nothing else to do for the next.. say.. 2-5 hours? :P But really, it's fun. And I don't know about the female DS version, haven't really looked into it. Oh, and my bad. Didn't realize it was in the wrong thread. XD; I'll pay attention to that next time.Fantasy Harvest Moon - Rune Factory looks very cool, and it's for the NDS. I heard it's coming out sometime in 2008, but I have yet to be sure. It's basically like all the other harvest moon series except for a few twists. You start off as this guy that lost his memory and such, and you wind up in some town. Trying to figure things out, you start a farm and make friends with the people there, yeah yeah. The difference this time though is that there is actually a MAIN game that you can finish before you start to relax and hook up with some hot chick. There are these caves with monsters in it and such and you actually get a sword and get to fight and beat 'em all up XP After you beat up a monster there's a chance you'll be able to capture it and bring it back to your farm in order for it to help you and such. For example some of them give you wool, etc etc. At the end of each cave there's some kind of boss that you need to defeat, and after you finish all the caves.. you're done with the main portion of the game. After that you're free to farm and get married and whatever else it is you wanted to do. So.. yeah, really. New gaming experience, and Natsume did a good job in adding a fighting style into the original Harvest Moon series. Some people might like it, some might not. You know.. ^^ As for the "Changing Clothes" thing, the only game I know that does that is the Harvest Moon - Another Wonderful Life. AKA the female version for the GC. It might be like that in the male version as well, but I couldn't exactly find that one so I was forced to be a girl and have a sort of "Feminine" moment. You guys know what I'm talking about, haha. Anyway *Ahem* I'll be happy to answer any questions or whatever, but then again I'm no expert. XP I just replay what I read in magazines like Nintendo Power, etc etc. The main website too.Oh, I just remembered. To whoever said that they didn't know where to start on the Harvest Moon - Friends of Mineral town thing.. There's plenty of guides out there that can give you tips without telling you how to run the game, but I guess I could also tell you what I do at times. However I've only done this in the female version, so don't take my word for it. And especially it isn't my fault if it doesn't work out for you, or anything. :P (Mostly because you need Won's so called "Heart Events" for it to work, and I'm not sure if he lets you sell things to him in the male version.)There's two ways to go about it in some cases.1.) Get rich fast and get all the crap before you get married, which usually takes a while.2.) Get by enough to get married as early as the first year, or very early next year.Usually I like doing the second way, but the first way can also be decent. In the first file I made (Yes, I make two.) I choose the second way, seeing as I like doing the "Kiss up to the crowd and find a wife" drill early, but it's also a really hardworking way seeing as you need to make your incomes with whatever you can get. The second way is a bit easier.. and some people might find it an easy way out, but hell, it works. Here's how I do it.Start lightly on your farm so it doesn't take up all of your stamina -- You're going to need it. In this way I suggest going for the power berries and such, they really help. You all already know that if you throw a cucumber into the lake by the mountain for 10 days straight Kappa comes out and gives you this blue berry that increases the amount of fatigue you can have by like, 50, right? Anyway.. Round up some cash and get the rucksack extensions, it comes in handy. Also.. each day after Won comes to your town give him a gold ore everyday if you can. After fall it's easy, seeing as he likes apples a lot, and lo and behold.. Apples! Right on your farm! Three a day! Stock up so you won't have to deal with the gold ore stuff anymore. After he lets you sell things, there's two things you can do. Do the apple game with him and get as many tickets as you can and save, then give it to him and see if you win the prize you want.. if you don't, you can either deal with it or reload. ^^; The other way, the way I did it, would be to go about my business until the horse races. The earliest I ever got to do this was the second race of the first year, so.. not sure how long it'll take anyone else. (It's kind of like cheating in a way, so I understand if you don't want to go about doing this. It's only if you want to take the easy way out, really.)For this, you simply save before you head into the Town Square. Watch the horse races and copy down the names of the horses that won, and reload. Chances are the same horse that won that time will win again, so just bet as much as you can afford onto those specific horses. Remember, you can always reload again if it doesn't go your way. Now.. I know a lot of things sound tempting, but I went for the perfume. The dress would have been more appropriate, but you can only really get it after you get the Jewel of Truth. I'm not sure if it WAS the perfume, but I think that was the one that was unlocked after you got the Power Berry.. so get that first and fill up your rucksack. Now the next day take all your findings to Won and sell them for quite a lot of money, the exact prices escapes my mind at the moment.. I'll look into it. XD; After you get to sell stuff to him and all, once in a while you'll get a letter that says you've won the lotto (Woo!). It's a Van's Favorite.. that if you want to give to that fat guy then go ahead, but I just sold it for around 50k per bottle. Anyway, that's all I have to say. My post's already ridiculously long.. and somehow it got turned into a mini-guide! XD;; Anyway, enjoy. ~

Hehe, anyone tried out Rune Factory yet? I heard it's already out. Personally, it's the best Harvest Moon game I've tried, however I kind of miss the small town that you could easily get used to, the new one in Rune Factory is rather large, seeing as theres so many caves and all that. Your HP goes down fast, too. D: Otherwise it rocks.

I liked the one for N64. I'm not exactly sure why, but I think it has to do with having to earn money and plant and raise a farm on your own that I like it. That or, because it's very similar to The Sims, Sim City and Sim Ant. Lol
