I doubt them keeping the same name with a higher number, they will probably change the name of the next generation system.

I am pretty sure that they will not come up with a Wii 2, but they will probably come up with something much better. maybe something that will engage your whole body rather than just your wrist/hand.

i see it this way, if they are going to make anything eles for Nintindo it will be a wilethey were the best last year and so onthey may make another system but it might be called something eles sine there never was a gamecube 2 or Nintendo 64 2 or so on

Nintendo has historically only named one system after another (Super Nintendo ES / Famicom), and likely won't do that again. At least right now. They might spin a variant on Wii, but I do not think that they will use the name outright

I think that the Wii will survive for a long time, mainly because of the updates and the unique controls.PS. I hope they won't make a new one because i would have to buy him!

nintendo never just adds a number to their new consoles. by next gen all systems will have some sort of motion control and amazing graphical capabiltites

It#s out of question that Nintendo will create a new super awesome console with a complete new concept 8unlike Sony who has the same console three times already)But it won't be called Wii.I wonder what controls the new console will have. Hope Nintendo manages to create an helmet for the virtual world....

Probably not Wiimote style, but maybe another novelty- style controller system. I can see, the 48th generation of consoles released in 2150 puts you into virtual reality, or something crazy like that. Not that I could ever see that happening... but you can't re-use the same novelty of remote sensing/accelerometer based controllers.

There is no way there will be a Wii 2. Nintendo constantly reinvents what they are doing. The only reason there was a super nintendo is because it was all about bits in the beginning. Now that there is so much technology available they'll probably try something new and unique. I wouldn't put it past them to make Virtual Boy 2 before they made a Wii 2.
