of course there will be one! with all that competition going on, they will definately make a newer, better, faster and better looking wii

Nintendo doen't have the reputation of naming their consoles in conseutive numpers. Besides, how far they're getting, the next console will probably be Virtual Reality.

Hopefully they don't make a Wii 2. I like the traditional game controller better. I also regret buying the wii.

Apparantly Nintendo took back what they recently said. It seems that Wii might not be a last console yet. Nintendo said they're going to make another one by late 2010. I don't know if it's still a wii or a completely new console.

I doubt there will be a new Wii, because that isn't consistent with the rest of the Nintendo consoles. There was never a NES "2" or a GameCube "2". They always thought of new names.

Next thing you know, they're going to make a handheld wii with Gamecube graphics. Don't know how that happens, but it seems to fit into the pattern.

They usually come up with different names for the bigger systems. N64, Gamecube, Wii. Even if its a little change like from Nintendo to Super Nintendo.

That's the thing, though. Apparantly Wii is the most "epic" name they ever came up with for a console. All the other names of the consoles were for simple reasons. NES was named, because, well, you know why. Super Nintendo because it was like Nintendo but way better. N64 was named that because the console could run 64 mHZ per second. Gamecube because of the way it looked. And now the "Wii". I don't know why they named taht. But upon the look of things, that name would've made much sense had the Wii been the last console Nintendo was going to make.They usually come up with different names for the bigger systems. Well, there will probably be upgrades. N64 -> GameCube -> Wii so far. I'd be surprised if they made the Wii the last one.

i think it all depends on what the ps3 does. I have a feeling that the psp slim and the ds lite are somehow related, so i imagine if the ps3 is improved so will the wii

nintendo never add a number after the same name indicating evolution(Playstation/Playstation 2/Playstation 3)Nintendo change all the console name (Nintendo64/Gamecube/Wii)i think they willbut they will prolly change the name of iti hope they do

Yeah, but they still supposed to have a long way before making another console. Nintendo's not focusing on the wii that much. Their eyes are going straight for the DS. YOu only see 1 or 2 good titles coming now and then for the wii, but for DS, it's a massive pile of great titles spontaneously appearing out of nowhere. Not to mention they are already focusing on improving the functions of the DS by adding more innovations into it. It's like they forgot about the wii.

I think the technology would be different. Like in the future consoles from Nintendo, they'll probably keep the same idea of a remote that senses movement. But who knows how far they'll take that?

Why would they make a second Wii console? It'd just be the same as the first. I think Nintendo would just make a new home console altogether.
