I was talking to my girlfriend and her sister the other day, and she felt it was weird to see sonic in the new Nintendo games line up. Theres a Olympics game coming out for the wii that has the Sonic characters thrown in with the mario cast. Just curious if any one else feels the same way about the Sonic mesh up.

Sega vs Nintendo times... If somebody told me that they will unite, I couldn't believe him, and now it has happened... I feel good for it, Sega has developed great games as Nintendo, now everything on this war goes for wii

Sonic is a great classic game but I think they've gone a little too far.

I've never liked Sonic, so the inclusion of Sonic in Nintendo games is a real drawback as far as I'm concerned. I just hope they don't add him as a character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. That would be horrible.

I'm glad that Sega made Sonic games for the Nintendo. I really liked the sonic games, so I was excited that they did that.

it's not bad seeing sonic, but the games have to really stay on track like the sega version. I just played the DS sonic Rush, and it compares nothing like Sonic 3 on the genesis =(

Sonic was great for Sega, Nintendo needed more original ideas, they kept on using old ideas and movies...

Sonic seems to be heading downhill pretty fast, I think if Nintendo took over a little and maybe helped them out it couldn't get much worse.

Well I've allways loved Sonic and I for one have no problem with Sonic on a Nintendo machine. You know that if a company has got the feeling that they can get better on platforms with more support ie. better customer service then why not? Anyone played Sonic Crackers btw? Funny game that has some potential imho. Shame that it was taken out of developement.

I highly doubt this would have happened if it weren't for that fact that Sega stopped making systems and moved soley into game development (though they probably still make certain arcade units which is something they are excellent at doing). Me personally, I did live during the console war times and I did know someone who was a loyal nintendo fan and despised Sony and Sega systems. The only sign of sonic on a nintendo system was this sonic hack for some game on SNES which I don't count because it obviously wasn't produced by Sega itself. Nevertheless, the merge went well to me and I do see some quality games from sega appearing on the GBA at least (I don't have a wii or gamecube so I don't know if any were for that). Then again, a part of me likes to hang on to the classics and I didn't embrace titles such as shining soul and the sonic advance series right away (especially sonic advance 2 and 3 as they were both way too linear with little opportunity for open exploration). I do think sega is limiting itself to nintendo though. I've yet to see a sega game on playstation 2 or 3 but on the other hand, I'm not nearly as familliar with their game libraries as I was with anything older than PS1.

Well Sonic used to be his on his own system (Genesis and Dreamcast), but because of all the people that decided to pirate the Dreamcast games, Sega basically went broke, so they lost out in the console wars...But, think about it... if Sega wants to keep Sonic in consoles, they basically got three choices: Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony...To me, Nintendo would be the best pick of the three. On top of that, there is a lot of gamer rivalry between Sonic and Mario. If Sonic is introduced in the upcoming Super Smash Bros Brawl... There'd basically be a panic in the gamer community. The amount of people that plays Super Smash Bros would double.

Go back to 1992 and tell someone that in the future there will be a Sonic game for a Nintendo console (GBA, GC, Wii, NDS), that SEGA will do a game for Nintendo (F-Zero GX for GameCube) and that there will be a game with both characters Mario & Sonic in ONE game, they would think that you are fn nuts!
