IMO both suck. =/ I've read the book and when I saw the movie I had no clue where they were half the time or what was going on. The book was bad because it was too long and it took forever for anything to really happen.

I never read the book (and still haven't and I don't think I want to :/.) before I saw the movie. I was so lucky the movie stuffed up near the end, scored me a free ticket to another movie. And yeah, the movie was terrible.

ugh. I thought the books were excellent, but I haven't seen the movie yet, and now after reading all this, I'm not sure I want to.

i didnt like the book. I have to admit i was thrown off by the fact that it was written by a 14 or 15 year old dude. In writing a novel you are supposed to try and show some sort of phsycological progression or development in the characters as the story goes on. I found this didnt happen, it was just action.saying this, i am yet to watch the movie. I will probably wait till it gets put in the weekly section at work wich should be very very soon.

The movie was pretty good but if you actually read it it'll probably be better especially since it has good descriptions and stuff

Movie...???That's the worst movie based on novel I've ever seen...too much missing part from the novel..you know what i hate most..???in novel it said that Saphira has a dragon wing (almost like bat) but in the movie, it turns into a bird's wings...damn I hate to remind that

The movie is okay, I like the graphics, but not as good as the book. Movie adaptations from books always aren't good. But the book, when I read it, seems like a fanfiction to me from other great writers of fantasy, legend, and epic. After a few chapters I got bored and the books stayed on my bookshelf for months now. Although it was well written and it has a nice plot, I just can't feel the story that much maybe because I've read many books (especially classics) that I automatically compare and analyze stories from each other.

I saw like 2 minutes of the movie and wanted to kill whoever made it, I pray to god every night by the way I doubt his existence that they NEVER make a second one.

Book over Movie, but honestly i thought there was a bit too much in the book to fit into a feature-length film... I'd suggest a mini-series or something but i know it'd be just as bad *sigh*

I liked the book better. The film is short, cuts most of the important scenes (Saphira grows in about 2 seconds!) and has boring and useless dialogues in it... It wasn't even worth the money I spent on renting it...

the movie was pretty much for girls that like English accents and cheaply made costumes.

I hate the book! It reminds me too much from LOTR. And I was shock when I saw that Murloc... Mulorc... what ever, the dude who looks just like Aragorn. The visual things are okey, but... when the story sucks, nothing else matters.

The dragons in the book were rippoffs of the dragons from the Dragon World book series, only this time, some dragons are evil, instead of all being good.I thought the movie was okay, and I haven't read the book yet. But seeing as how I'm a huge fan of Dragons, I was kinda hoping it would be a bit better.
