Sell? Didn't Nintendo have a recall on the straps a while back? By this point, all Wiimotes should have access to stronger straps, either by being packaged in or though replacement by Nintendo...

You saying I should've bought my Wiimote a little later? <.<Or were you supposed to return your old straps, and get newer ones?

Yeah, I've heard the storys. I play Wii sports a lot, it never happens to me, sometimes I don't even where it around my wrist, it doesn't scare me that it might smash into my 61" HD TV.

I think it could be dangerous but that is only if you are like swinging like a maniac.

The wii is only a problem now if you aren't smart enough to strap your wii mote around your wrists or if you are dumb enough to swing it around above your head with the nunchuck attached...and if you try this to test it out I have no sympathy for you

The Wii can be totally dangerous, but so can all the other systems. I mean honestly, if you threw a gamecube or something at someone it'd probably hurt quite badly. Also, when I first got my Wii, my nephew was so excited over the stupid thing that he jumped off a chair and broke the ceiling fan...but that's just stupidity.

It's not really the Wii that is dangerous. It is the person playing. The straps on your Wiimotes are supposed to help keep you from flinging the mote through your screen. The other problem is that a person has to watch themselve when they are playing the games. My mom has fun playing bowling. But I notice after every throw she gets closer and closer to the screen. She almost whack the screen once, so I have to keep telling her to back up before she breaks something.

Unless you don't use it to play games, the wii being dangerous is a stupid idea. Of course, Nintendo still adds the warning message before you start the games because they're aware that there are even idiots out there that own a wii.

it depends on the game. And the radius of the person controlling it.

perhaps they should come out with a metal plate which they could surgically implant into your palm. Then, the wiimote could have an interlocking port which would attach to said plate in your hand. Once firmly attached you could then insert a lynch pin and lock that down...thus there would be no danger of it flying out of your hand...or just as good...nintendo should put an airbag system in the wiimote...the wiimote could send out an ir signal to detect speed and proximity to other object (say...the tv...or someones face)when confronted with such a situation as would be undesirable the wiimote could swiftly deploy an airbag which would encase the wiimote and the hand of the user....of course, in the case of such a deployment you would be thus forced to buy a new wiimote at your local gameshop dealer...

The Wii's not dangerous, nor were the wiimote straps ever too weak. It's all stupid people not tightening the wrist strap and/or people doing massive movements which are totally unneeded. If you injure yourself, you brung it upon yourself!
