I have a PS2 as well so please don't be offended but I was just wondering, now that we have the "next-gen" Playstation, when will the "current" one become obsolete? that is, when will they stop making games for it?

I like Sony because they still support their older systems even though they have a new system out. I think it is great that PS2 games are still being made, and good games too... Usually towards the end of a game system life cycle you get flooded with My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake games, but the PS2 has had God of War 2, Burnout Dominator and several other great games since the PS3 had been released. I think they should keep making PS2 games for at least another 3-4 years.

I agree with g34rh34d. There are no more game unleashed for the Gamecube and XBox. Sony keep making some games for the PS2 and they don't give up the ones who can't actually buy a PS3. I think they will make few ps2 games for a last year...

PS2 games will still be developed for a few more years since...i certainly hope that PS2 wont stop making games...

well i think they will stop making GOOD games for sure for the ps2. i think the ps2 became obsolete right after god of war 2 came out. sure maybe they will make games for ps2, but i think they will be pointless like games based on movies or "edumacational" games

im gonna have to say when ps3 is finaly cheap and affordable and the price of a game is around $30untill then, everyone that buys one will just end up selling it on ebay for more cash then they paid for it in the first place :-/

they will stop making ps2 games when ps3 gets more games and more buyers ... now there are not that much games bought for ps3 so they produce the ps2 games till they are not needed

About 3-5 years. Even if PS3 catches on some games will still be released for PS2.

i dont think they will stop makin PS2 game for a few more years.. i mean the PS2 is still one of the best selling systems on the market.. sony did a good job staggering the releases of the PS2 and the PS3 and so their markets arent really competing with each other the same way that the xbox and the xbox 360 are.. i believe that the PS2 is still contributing a good deal of money to the sony brand.. so if you want to pay the money there is the PS3 and if not the PS2 is super cheap now.. as long as they are making money and until all game developers have the resources to produce PS3 games they will continue to release PS2 games.. and i love that because i love my PS2 and i dont want to buy a new system till mine kicks the bucket.. long live the PS2!!
