i think that they will make just a few new games cause the playstaion 3 is up now

They might have a go on stoping Ps2 games when they lower the price on the PS3 a little....I know one person with a ps3 .... :|Everyone still has a ps2, why stop trying to make money from them

I would hope they continue for up to 5 years but thats optimistic. However recent ps2 games are still very good and god of war 2 looks better than some "next genaration" games

Probably when they judge the PS3 to be affordable. That'll take a few years, I reckon.

I think they will last a long time with ps2 being their most popular system to date... maybe 10 hopefully.

As the price of the ps3 comes down, and more people can afford it the release of ps2 games will probably decline. probably a question of when a new playstation might be released against the price reduction of the ps3

PS2 is still going strong, It may be a last gen console now, But people are still going to make games for it, People already have one already, Plus people have troubly giving up the rumble feature, sure you can play PS2 games on PS3 but some games nead a rumblepack for the full experience. Plus the PS3 is still too high so people aren't letting go to their PS2 yet

i totally agree with youim gonna have to say when ps3 is finaly cheap and affordable and the price of a game is around $30untill then, everyone that buys one will just end up selling it on ebay for more cash then they paid for it in the first place :-/

Never!Why would they! hahaWhats gonna happen is they'll abandon the ps3.Make the ps2 even smaller and cheaper.Add an hddvd drive.Start making all new ps2 games in hddvd.After a year or so they'll make it smaller, slap a screen on it with phone and mp3 functionality and call it the psphone.

They will most likely stop when ps3 sales are up and they think the ps3 will make more money then having a game on both

it's like any new console (or even handheld). Once a new one is released, they will continue making games for the old one until it totally loses popularity which will mark the appropriate time to stop. Much like how the frequency of GBA game releases were reduced until today when it is next to (if not) nothing. I'd say give PS2 3-5 years and that's it. For now, PS2 is still going strong because PS3 is very expensive and lacks a decent set of exclusive games.

I like the PS2 but there has to be a limit to these never ending games. The sooner they stop making them the faster sony will make money on the PS3

if ps3 stays at that price.. well , the ps2 will be never get obsolete 
but i think that in a 2 or 3 years i will stop the ps2 production of games, althought, as the psx, it will still be a cheap option for the people who doesn't have the resources for top-gen videogaming... (here in chile almost every psx game is an unoriginal copy making it REALLY cheap and still a popular option for the ones without much money)

I say in a year as there are a lot of people who have it, and many do not have a PS3 due to the high cost.

I hope that ps2 game will stop being produced after I buy ps3 or 360 becuse I still not prepare to buy ps3 or 360.But I am really mad with psp because many of good games re exclusively for psp and not for ps2.damn it psp,damn it.
