It can buy peace of mind and in turn that equals happiness. Happiness = stability.

I agree with you on this one.

Define your "happiness" and I would answer your question..Since the meaning of the word happiness depends on a person's own insight about his own happiness..For me, it sometimes would and sometimes not.. Eventhough we sometimes disagree with it, materials things (those which are bought with money) have a place in our own definitions of happiness..Am i right?

For me it would definitely make me happy having enough money to live comfortably. Though there are rich people who are depressed because they have problems associated with that amount of money such as spouses divorcing. But I don't think the unhappiness is completely associated with having that amount of money.

Whoever said money can't buy happiness never bought a pet  I think the key to a good life is not what money can buy you, but how you invest it - knowing that you have put enough away to life comfortably in mid to old age is a thought that can make many people content.

If your not happy or depressed by something in your life then no money can't buy happiness for that. But then on the other hand yeah money can buy happiness, cause I like video games and they cost money

Possessions can indeed reduce stress, such as video games...but one does not need an excessive sum of money to buy those. Money can actually buy along depression because many rich people tend to want MOAR money, leading them to stressful lives.

Not if you have a small farm. It is possible to be self sustaining and be happy. It isn't the lifestyle of choice for most people but it is done by some.Money can't buy happiness, it can buy things. Those things can help make life more enjoyable or in the case of entertainment products that can bring fleeting happiness. But true happiness and contentment can never be purchased.

I dont think it can buy complete happiness - just temporary. But a friend of mine thinks it can.

I agree with you. I want a ps3 now but I'll get bored of it someday. Love and friendships can buy happiness. :(

Not directly, no. But money can buy things that make me happy, so it certainly helps. And it's definitely easier to be happy with money than without.

If you look at the context of the phrase, there can be several different variations of its meaning which all depends on how you look at it. The construction, I mean.Money can indeed "buy" happiness because in theory, if you look at the meaning of the word buy, "obtaining something through purchase". Money is used for purchasing items, be it material or otherwise.Another is that there are many ways to interpret "happiness". One definition would suggest that happiness is obtained through satisfaction. Another, is a feeling of euphoria. So, there it is. :)

Having some money can eliminate some of your worries. But there are things that money cannot buy and often those are some of the things that are most important to people. Like love and friendship. Money doesnt really buy those
