hell yeah it can buy happiness. i honestly do not see how this is debatable. when ppl look at this everyone is seeing this in such a selfish perspective. if ur filthy rich, you will be able to support your family, support others in your community, get the things you want. therefore making you and everyone around you happy. when everyone has less worries (money usually being a big stress factor) then everyone is happy

Money can buy a lot of things. Whether or not it can by happiness depends on the individuals definition of happiness. From my standpoint, money can buy instant gratification. Not long term fulfillment that a relationship with another human being brings.

Money can certainly buy limited happiness, but not the most valuable type that I believe can only come from people.

Money can't buy happiness. Money can most certainly help lead you to happiness but money but itself can't give you happiness. One of the morals I constantly remind myself of daily is "money can't buy you a trustworthy friend, a loving family, etc."

I believe that money can buy you happiness. or at least me happiness. cause i get happiness from material things. and oh look at that money can buy material things. If not well... it can still give you heck of a lot of things to fill the void with.

To some extent, money can buy happiness... but whether the happiness is longlasting depends on the person in question. I mean, you could buy friends and a family and relationships.. but unless you're ridiculously stupid, you'd only be temporarily happy until you remember that these people are only hanging around you because you have money.

money can buy temporary happiness. And then it can buy more temporary happiness which ends up in being happy forever.

This is a really subjective question. For people who know what they want in Life, and as long as those things are buy-able, then yeah, money buys happiness, but otherwise, if a person doesn't know what he or she wants or what they're looking for is self respect. Then No, money won't do jack

Haha, ever heard of the phrase "money can't buy me happiness, but I'd rather be sad in my Ferrari..."? I think it's quite funny. Of course it's not going to instantly buy you happiness, but it can buy you a lot of other things that will make you happy. Everything in moderation!

yes it can! money buys happiness... but only if you earn it. acquiring money takes work and skill. research shows that the happiest people in life are the ones who set goals and accomplish them. getting money is precisely that. nothing more satisfying than getting cash for something that you've proudly accomplished, and in turn you can use that dough to buy things which also increases happiness. materialism makes the world go round

i agree that money can only buy happiness temporily. we think it makes us happy because it can get us what we want but if we always get what we want so easily then suddenly we are not happy anymore.

It doesn't but it can try. It's funny that people where I live assume that if you have lots of money you automatically have no good family relations or that you don't have any real friends. Of course, you can have those things at the same time! It's just that most stories out there about making money a priority rather than friends or family is all about bringing you to your senses. That if ever your family or friends were to disappear and you had lots of money, you wouldn't be as happy! (which is true, IMHO)Sorry for the rant.

your right it can't buy complete happiness because I want companionship in life, but it can buy me the stuff I want and get me to the places I want to go in life so it can provide you some measure of happiness.

i agree that money can only buy happiness temporily. we think it makes us happy because it can get us what we want but if we always get what we want so easily then suddenly we are not happy anymore.

ah good point. Part of it is the struggle to get the money in the first place which makes the buying so satisfying.

No, it can't buy happiness. It can however make your life a lot more easier. A easier life could mean more time to enjoy yourself and be happy.
