Now, who here has played some of these games? These are extremely fun strategy games that will keep you entertained for hours. I've yet to play Age of Mithology, but I've played and beaten the rest. What about you guys, what do you think of this series?

Definitely played both AOE game for the first time ever at a lan party about two weeks ago. I was quite amazed with AOE2, yet disappointed with the original, other than for the sake of accepting it as inspiration. These games have definitely inspired many rts games of the present, and I think that everyone that likes rts games should check them out in order to see the genre's roots.

I have played both AOE and AOE 2 and they are both good strategy games. I especially love the cheats (cars and missiles).

If you wanna play a really good RTS, play Rise of Nations. I thought AOE was amazing until i played RON, and RON was UNBEVELIEVEABLE!!!

age of empire 3 is coming out in late 2005. anyway age of empire is one of the better rts games out there.

Hmm, nice, can't wait for that. Thank you.And isn't Rise of Nations a present day or future game? Cause what makes Age of Empires unique is that they are back in time, progressing through the years. No guns or anything, closest thing to that is the cannonmen in AOE2 which takes some research to get.Anyway, I liked Age of Empires(1), that was classic, but then 2 game out and blew it away like it was nothing. You were probably dissapointed because present-day gaming expectations are a lot higher then what they were when that was made.age of empire 3 is coming out in late 2005. anyway age of empire is one of the better rts games out there.

I didnt really like AOM because the campaigns where a disapointment to me AOE i loved and AOEII blew that out of the water. AOEIII sounds really fun but when in late 2005 is the question.

I have play all the Age of Empire and I like all of them. But actually the only one that I play is AOE The Conquerous. One of the best games ever. I don't get bored of playing it through the net.Rise of Nation is a very good game but you can't comparte it with AOE2. This one is just amazing.

I've played all the AOE games too, didn't like Mythologies, it kinda disappointed me. The best for me were Conquerors and AOE2, amazing games, I've played them a lot of times, it's a shame that I can't play them anymore online :waaah: I think I'm going back to play AOE2, I hope my skills remain the same...AOEIII is going to be awsome. I can't wait for it.

well i played all of them and i guess i liked AoM the most. AoE has tons of stuff to deal with that keeps you from enjoying the game if you ask me.

Is there still quote a large crowd that playe AOE2 online?I had AOE and 2, I loved both, I remember having to wait for 2 because when it came out I was running a 8MB, 2gb, god-knows-what-processor and I couldn't get it to run (surprise, surprise) though I'd managed to most other games, AOE2 was the first 32mb game I couldn't get running on my computer.

Heh, theres surprisingly more than you would think. Just a month ago at The Zone, there was a few places full to the limit. 
But a lot of people are switching games nowadays...

Go to www.zone.com and go to "CD Games".In there search for Age of Empires 2. Whatever version you have. SHould be around the top. Once there you just download a few necessary things, make an account and you can play multi-player for free. Really cool series, It's even fun to play AoE1 again :)age of mythology has really superb graphics, wich can not be sayd for AoE1, but the game is still cool. Do you have the expantion? with the titans? its really cool, allthough some titans are a bit ugly....but they are strong as hell :beating:

AOE is a fun game, Age Of mythology i havant played as much, but i think its more fun... but then again i havant played it that much so i cant really tell, AOE was a really fun game... I think they needed harder computer players and More campaigns... I also think they should have made an easier way to get into internet games!

I played AOE 1/2 and they are really great. The stories, they tell are really amazing, I really like the fights the nice level editor, the wonderful videos and the great sound.

age of mythology really blew me away when i first played it... amazing water and waves and ambience. the multiplayer and civilizations are nicely designed and has much less flaws that would spoil the game.
Those clowns in congress did it again! What a bunch of clowns!

I've just now got my girlfriend to get the game so we're playing online alot >.<I can't get onto zone.com, hopefully AOE3 will eliminate the browser aspect.

Rise of Nations is better than both of these games; its takes time to master and not everyone can beat it the first time: it has great technology tress and every race plays differently (unlike AoE or Age of Mythology)
