I've always been and always will be a fan of King of Fighters.All good fighting games, but KOF has marked me much more than any of the others.

I honestly believe that the only reason anyone doesn't think Guilty Gear is the best fighting game ever is because they don't play it competently. I'm just that biased.

I like Guilty Gear because it's a great series that doesn't get as much attention as it deserves. It has great character designs and music, and it's really fun. Plus the gameplay isn't all that bad.

Do the Naruto fighting games (ie: Clash Of Ninja) count as 2D? If they do, they're my favorite because they have familiar characters.

All should try MUGEN, open source 2d fighter for PC, u can find like every 2d fighting character for the game, I recommend trying searching a torrent site for different versions, but you have to be a little picky, or else you will get trashy versions with alot of trashy characters, keep in mind that everything on Mugen is made by players for players.

lolol I'd go with guilty gear just because of it's fast paced. KoF is pretty good too. I havent played street fighter for some time. Latest one i Played was Street fighter 3 Third strike

I'd go with Guilty Gear. The animations are fluid, the combos are easy enough to perform while not being so simple to be button mashing. And the characters are really creative and sometimes quirky.
