I'm pretty sure a hurricane is worse. With both of them there is a slight chance of losing your house to strong winds and flying debris but with a hurricane you have massive amounts of water to deal with.

tornadoes are worse cause they can spawn pretty much anywhere and throw debris everywhere. hurricanes have to form over water and lose power as they move inland

A hurricane, it comes in and takes everything with it. It's crazy strong, so what you can run, it'll still come and destroy.

Hard to say, Tornado's are so unpredictable and they can appear anywhere in the country and often where there is one more appear after all I remember 3 that happened in one night in my hometown but hurricanes last so much longer and hit a larger area at once although they don't come randomly and give you much more time to get away and they can't hit anywhere. I gotta give my vote to tornado's

They are both equally dangerous. A tornado could do incredible damage without any time to prepare and a hurricane does more damage over an area but u have more time to get away.

Despite the large number of replies on this topic, I could find no one who realized this: HURRICANES CAN SPAWN TORNADOES!!! Yes, Hurricanes win. A hurricane is an absolutely massive storm, whereas a tornado is just a funnel of rapid air movement underneath a storm. Because a hurricane can cause the same level of damage on a much wider scale, includes massive coastline flooding, and can spawn tornadoes(which cannot spawn hurricanes), hurricanes win hands down.
