Fable is ace. Loads of restrictions but good gameplay. Love the battle system on it and the way you get old aswell, thats good. However, KoToR II was also an ace game.Youshould have got both... but saying that - its been like 2 years since your post, HAHAHA, so hopefully you would have had both by now!!

Kotor 2. its not better than fable in the way of graphics or items, but the kotors always have those little nuggets that you gotta dig deep for, but once you do, ya feel all warm and fuzzy

The topic was created in 2005, do you guys really thing the OP is still wondering which of these two games to choose?I prefer the Kotor games over Fable, mainly because I like more sci-fi than the fantasy stuff. Will be interesting to see how the "Kotor" online turns out...

If you just want an environment where you can do anything you want, go with Fable. If you actually want to get benefits from being evil or good, go for KoToRII. After playing both, I personally liked KoToRII because there was actual benefits to being good or evil, where as in Fable, all it does is decide whether you kill someone or not. In fact, in Fable its quite possible to be good an evil at the same time which makes little sense, because good and evil points don't subtract from each other. Both of them have good gameplay although I'd say Fable lets you be more liberal over how you attack. Both storylines are ok, since the final bosses in both games become a cakewalk after you've gained all the experience it takes to get to them. One of the things I like about KoToRII that Fable doesnt have is the ability to warp other people to your alignment.

Fable was nice and more deeper with the whole inherently good/bad thing going on. However, even though the dark/light side paths can be shallow in SW: KOTOR II TSL, I still consider it to be the better RPG. I am still discovering new weapons, items and gear while replaying it for like the 11th time (yes, I love games with replay value.)

If the choice were between Knights of the Old Republic and Fable, i'd give it to KOTOR. Sadly, KOTOR II was lacking in many departments - while I own the original and have played through it several times, the sequel was sub-par in every way. It was a mistake to turn it over to another studio. I guess if you just wanted more of the same, it'd be okay.. but it just felt wholly unoriginal to me.Fable, on the other hand, was a little disappointing, but still a very solid RPG that had some new things to bring to the table. So between KOTOR II and Fable, I give it to the latter.

I would have to go with KOTOR. Fable, to me, gets a bit repetitive, and unless you become a magician, you never really gain any new skills, you just get better swords, plus it's short. KOTOR on the other hand provides huge custimization, which helps with replay value, and keeps things interesting and changing as the game goes on, plus there are lots of side quests, a great story, plenty of gameplay to keep you busy.
