I get so tired of all this console talk about the great games. Every PC gamer out there knows there is no comparison. The mouse/keyboard combination is the only way. I'd put it up against any controller anyday! BTW - what are you using to type your reply? hahMod edit : contribute to this topic http://www.dgemu.com...howtopic=54&hl=

Stop with Halo 2 eh? You know its only a metter of time before it comes out for pc so you can calm down now. Also try playing a fighting game on a keyboard and try to make a fatality type move with the keyboard, painfully freekin imposible!

I just wanted to ruffle some feathers!!! I Love XBox as well. Hell, Teken 5 in the arcade is badass too! I think its funny that the greatest console ever, JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE a modified PC!!! So, what we really should do is all buy badass IDENTICAL PCs (so the developers won't have soo much difficulty providing good software titles) and watch the revolution begin! If there wasn't a billion different computer configurations out there they could produce some bad donkey titles like they do for Consoles because they would know exactly what they were programming for. blah

So what exactly is your argument, and can you present it in a coherent manner please?

Most people are used to the controller. Also, I'd rather freaking use triggers to shoot than damn letters... Also, your not really taking into consideration that PC's cost a hell of a lot more than a X-box.Especially if you wanted 2.And last, why bring your ranting to the X-Box forum. If you said it without the attitude, I'm sure you'd have people backing you up or at least agreeing.

PC's need to be continually upgraded to run the latest games. Consoles dont. Every 5 years, a new console comes out, and thats enough. True, it may be more comfortable to play FPS's on PC's, but controllers are more comfortable for other games. Besides, no-one's forcing you to play on an xbox.

BTW - what are you using to type your reply? hah

Controllers werent designed for typing. What else do you expect us to use.I think you make a really weak argument.

OKay.. let's use an example.. a totally random game.. okay?Xbox:OKay.. so I shot the guy.. ][Right Trigger][ a bunch of times... then I had to reload ][Left Trigger][ when he was dead I ran ][Left Stick][ around the corner then aimed the camera ][right stick][ then jumped ][A][ onto the platform then ran and jumped off ][A][ then grabbed the flag ][X][ and won..Now.. PC:Okay.. so I shot the guy.. ][Left Click][ then reloaded ][Right Click][ when he was dead I ran ][Arrow Key+ R][ around the corner then aimed the camera ][Mouse][ then jumped ][4][ onto the platform then ran and jumped off ][Q][ then grabbed the flag ][Type: GRAB THE FLAG][ and won..I see a big difference.. :)

Okay, I've read this topic and came to a conclusion that most of you are idiots.1. Adaptation. I don't know why all of you think that using a thumbstick is harder than using a mouse. If you know someone who has never used a mouse before (very unlikely), get them to use it. Notice how they maneuver as if they were drunk. You're so used to the mouse that you think it's the best way to move in a screen. I'm sure that if we were to use a thumbstick on the computer and a mouse on the consoles you would all still be complaining about the console controllers.2. Halo 2 is not coming anywhere near your PC as it stands, if ever.3.

I see a big difference..

You have bad vision, because there is no difference.Let me translate that for both systems:[mouse click/button press][mouse click/button press][button press/thumbstick move][mouse move/thumbstick move][button press][button press][button press]There, see it? No difference.

Or maybe you're blind for seeing nothing? There IS a big difference. Yeah, PC allows more options with a single button press instead of combinations for the Xbox controller. Xbox however allows easier accesiblity to the functions. Instead of having to hold a button on the number pad while tapping Q on the other side.. XBox let's you hit two on the same side, within fingers reach. They both have advantages and disadvantages.

I'm sure that if we were to use a thumbstick on the computer and a mouse on the consoles you would all still be complaining about the console controllers.

Yeah, but it doesn't matter, because the mouse ISN'T on consoles and the thumbstick ISN'T on PC. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm saying there's a DIFFERENCE.. douche.

I didn't think you were very bright, but now it's confirmed.

This argument is simply nulled by that fact that all controls, whether on a controller, a mouse or a keyboard, serve different functions depending on their configuration and the game they're played on.

Yeah, but it doesn't matter, because the mouse ISN'T on consoles and the thumbstick ISN'T on PC. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm saying there's a DIFFERENCE.. douche.

What doesn't matter? If you read my post again, you'll see that you entirely went through it. People who have used a thumbstick more than a mouse will find the thumbstick easier to use. Period. For the sake of your good reputation in the forums, don't argue any further.

Who said they were? As I said... blind.Anyway.. what should it matter? If you like PC games with the mouse and keyboard.. then good for you.Same goes for those who like the XBox and the controller. If you like it that way, stick with it. There's no reason to rant on about stupid crap. They both serve the same purpose so get the fk one with your life.. I mean damn.

Well, I obviously accomplished what I wanted. See, I wasn't after making sides. I just wanted to start and argument. Everything has Pros, and every system has Cons. Whatever you're happy with is the system you should use. I personally like PC and I would like there to be only one system that meets all our needs. That'll never happen but I'm sure Microsoft will continue to try, XBox 2 sounds promising.

Wow, I should warn you for being such a dumbass.

Who said they were? As I said... blind.

Who said who was what? People in this topic that a mouse and keyboard are better than a controller? It's all over the topic:

The mouse/keyboard combination is the only way. I'd put it up against any controller anyday!

True, it may be more comfortable to play FPS's on PC's, but controllers are more comfortable for other games. Besides

As for me being blind, yeah. That's how I manage to read and reply to posts right ?

Anyway.. what should it matter? If you like PC games with the mouse and keyboard.. then good for you.Same goes for those who like the XBox and the controller. If you like it that way, stick with it. There's no reason to rant on about stupid crap. They both serve the same purpose so get the fk one with your life.. I mean damn.

I assume all this isn't aimed to me, because it has nothing to do with my arguments.Oh btw, here's the solution for you who want to play Halo 2 with a mouse/keyboard:SmartJoy FRAG Adapter

Heh.. wow.. flaming really helps an argument. But what the freak ever, like I said, you like controllers, Good. You don't, good.I don't care either way, the keyboard is used on PC, the controller on consoles. If I'm playing something on my PC, I'll use my keyboard, If I'm playing something on the Xbox, I'll use my controller. Plain and simple, I never said which was better. I like both, actually. But PC more so, controllers are smaller, but keyboards allow more options.

Computers were originaly disigned for mathamatics, then they became more advanced and were used in work places to run machines, eventualy in companies. Eventualy a home computer was made, to closely relate it was a piece of crap, had to type code, no interface or mouse. Now, computers are easy to do thousands of things, computers ARE BETTER THEN CONSOLES in only one way, they can do more, but a console is disgned for one thing, to play games. So a console pulls it off better, and even I use computers to play games, I hook up a joystick or control to play them 99% of the time, but console games are way better. Now computers are my god, but wait, a console is a type of computer, yes with limmitations, but it can do somethings computers can not. Take Halo1 for the Xbox for example its graphics are tons better compared to its PC counter-part. Why? Because most computers cant hadle it.See, consoles and PC's have a chip in them that alows them to do many things. So which has more? A PC? No, at least not most of the time, most PC's only have 1 chip for that kinds of stuff, while a console can have hundreds. The playstation and Nintendo64 only had 3, but the PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox have well over a hundred.

I think shooters are better kept on pc because of mouse + keyboard. It's much better to control but halo isnt too bad to play on the xbox same with gears of wars.

I for one HATE HATE HATE FPSes using the mouse/keyboard. It is just a personal preference - I can't stand it without a controller.
