I loved the license board, so you could totally customize your characters from the get go

I thought the materia system was absolutely terrible. Practically all materia for the first disc had a -hp% status effect so it was a choice between using rare/few/expensive items and lacking magic, or having magic but being seriously weakened. By the end of the game magic was stupid as well. It was all eye-candy since 2(4)x-cut + All Slash > Ultima. And Knights of the Round was a complete waste of time (W-Summon and Mime were so overpowered.)Either FF3 or FF5's system were the best IMO. The job system was AMAZING when you considered the hardware limitations at the time.

The Sphere grid wasn't too bad. I mean, you could have one completely tanked guy who knows everything

Personally, I'm a fan of the job system from FFV (and other FF games) but from the ones on the list, I'll go with Materia. Searching all over the map and bredding chocobos in order to get every Materia was one of the best thigns about FFVII.

The materia system is by far my favorite. And while I saw some people saying that Materia became obsolete at the end of the game, that is so not true. Now it may be unfair but I mastered my Knight of the Round materia and spammed the heck out of it in every battle. It got to a point where I could kill ANY BOSS in one hit.

The sphere grid was fun to use not to mention the attack breakthrough allowing 99999. XD

FF1's system isn't quite the same as FF3 and 5... it's quite a stretch since you can't change class in the middle of the game or anything. That said, I love the Job system of FF3, FF5, and FFX-2 though it isn't quite the same. I thought materia sucked.

i like dress sphere.never knew it was so fun till i try it out.there r so many too hunt it down besides who wouldn't like the transformation

Sphere Grid was AMAZING! The work they must have put into it to make it balanced, and look good with all the circles and stuff...

Materia were really great, because they were included in the storyline....but, even if it was hard in the end, i enjoyed the G-Forces juntion sytem in FFVIII: it was all new and somehow weird, because you always needed to steal spells to the opponents....but, as i really like thieves in RPG's, well, that's was fun...:(.

Materia, simply that. Not only was it effective, it allowed you to experiment(with/or without the stratagie book) with different types of magic. Added elements? HELL YA! and not only that, the fact that you could get multiple drops of materia and combine them with others was amazing.

My favorite system was the dresspheres but the sphere grid was nice as well. I like the dresspheres for the variety of the moves. The sphere grid was complicated at first but it wasn't hard after a while to just max out everyone's stats.

I'm not sure, but I think I liked the FFX Spere Grid and the FFVIII junction.

Yeah, the Sphere Grid was interesting, and worked really well. I really enjoyed it, even if the characters lost a lot of uniqueness towards the end.

I really liked both the sphere grid and the original leveling up in FF1.The sphere grid allowed you full customize everyone, but it did lose the originality of the characters with doing that. The leveling up in FF1 was by far the best one, I think. Sure you had to take some time to go and just fight to level up, but in the end your characters were the strongest and you could just walk thru all the areas you still needed to go thru.

junctions were definately the best. so very much customiztion. i think many people have trouble with the whole thinking thing though, which is why they may prefer to slap stones into weapon and armor slots where the only real thinking is to remember to put fire in a slot connected with all. and then you can basically just buy all the power, with a few exceptions. with junctioning, you had to work hard to get magic.

I reckon the sphere grid works the best cause u can learn magic spells for someone that wouldn't normally have them as long as u train enough

I just loved finding all those rare materias and being able to equip anybody with them. However, there isn't the option from Final Fantasy III. I did enjoy that the Espers. There were so many of them, like Pokémon, and each one would level up a few different types of magic skills.
