Charmander no question, like common, CHARZARD!!! B)Although, in Ruby, the fire pokemon Torchic sucked. I restarted and used Treeko.

I cant choose one, so I always use trading&reset to start game with all three pokemons. and all have same ID.

I went with the fire type in each version. Fire is one of my favorite types, along with Dark, Electric and Psychic types.

Charmander is a good choice Easy to use and can counter many gyms though.

i always chose the best choice. He's the smartest pick because he can take out both of the other starters easy. He can take out charmander and to take out Bulbasaur teach him an ice skill. There so now ha can take out : Fire , Ground , Plant , Fighting , Ghost (ice works only in red blue and yellow) , Flying , and i dont remember what else but the only way they could kill me is if i was attacked by electric , but even then i'd switch to my Ground or Rock types.

Im a huge fan on Fire pokemon so I always pick Charmander, Cyndquil (sp?), Torchic! Favorite Fire pokemon is Blaziken!

uhhhh its not about choosing a good STARTER at the beginning of hte game, but a good EVOLUTION. sure, squirt and bulb pwn the first gyms, but guess who has the best overall stats at the 3rd evolution? char. plus, venus is a grass/poison, both types losing hardcore. especially poison. and blastoise is a solid defender, but char rocks the house with tm accessibility and high spd, atk, and spec

i started with charmander but shortly after i picked bulbasaur
