I always chose Squirtle (except for Yellow, of course!)...Charmeleon's back view was always strange, and I could always find grass and/or poison Pokemon.

Mine was Treeko, but i went to a thirft store and got red right before firered and leafgreen came out so i picked squirtle

I always picked Squirtle or the Water-type until they finally let Charizard use Fly.

I picked charmander because I watch the series on Television and it evolved into a Charizard meaning that it could learn fly

Squirtle all the way! I mean, I used to have a Blastoise who knew Dig, man. That and my Golducks were awesome. I've always been a water-centric Trainer, I think it comes from being born under Pisces, and so having a natural affinity for it.Still, it was awesome to rock an Electric pokemon with my Blastoise using Dig. Those were the days.

I knew nothing of pokemon, nor what they looked like after they evolved. And I always chose charmander for some reason. I've been partial to the fire pokemon mostly. With a few exceptions.

Charmander. It gets really storng, and turns into a fire/flying type later on. But to be honest, if you want to have a easy game, choose squirtle because of the abundance of rock and ground pokemon in the game.

This only about Red/Blue? =| For Red/Blue = Charmander (Didn't play Leaf Green and Fire Red)Yellow = Pikachu, duhGold/Silver/Crystal = TotodileRuby/Sapphire/Emerald = MudkipI haven't played Pearl/Diamond much coz of performance issues. :waaa:MD Explorers of Time/Darkness = Bulbasaur, Pikachu as partnerThat's about it! :)

I always went with water to make the first gym easy which would give me time to train up another pokemon so I was already ready for the next gym.

Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander in that order. However, In the Fire Red now, Charmander is easier with his Metal Claw.
