I chose Charmander, mainly because I like Fire Pokemon and because I find Charmander much cuter than the other ones...

I chose Bulbasaur because it looked unique (compared to the things which obviously looked like they were based on real creatures) and cute at the same time. Then I cheated by trading over a Charmander and Squirtle from my sister's copy before she started. They were all so cute, too bad they all turned into these huge and not-so-cute creatures.

Ur best choice is to always and i mean always go for the water type. Charmander because in most pokemon games the next area is FILLED with bug and grass pokemon so its a good choice.

Depends. For Red, I usually choose Charmander. For Blue, I usually choose Squirtle. Ocasionally I'll choose Bulbasaur. I love Yellow because you can get all of them. :-)

I usually go for the cuter of the three (of any version of starter pokemon) but if they're all equally adorable, I'd pick the fire pokemon =)

Definitely Squirtle. It made my beginning so much easier. I can take down the first gym leader(brock) in just the first try :].

Charmander, looking back though i realize that Bulbasaur made the game incredibly easy since he's good for the first three gyms.

The first Red, I chose bulbasaur, but afterwards, it was always Charmander. Especially after I got him in Mystery Dungeon

I'm surprised at how many people chose Charmander.I always chose Squirtle, just because you could teach it ice moves to go against the Rival's Grass type.

Squirtle!I had blue version and I wanted the matching Pokemon. Since then I've always picked Bulbasaur so I can breeze through the first couple of gyms.

I like charmander mainly for the reason of it's harder to start with and I've always preferred Charizard over the rest of them.

Always Charmander because Charizard was the most badass pokemon at the time.
