I'd like to think there was some sort of heaven, just dieing and decomposing isn't something i'd look forward to. I'm atheist so I'm not really a huge believer in God (I prefer polytheism :P More interesting) there's nothing to say its not possible but I'd like some hard evidence rather then a book.

i think both ways... sure he exists but then again where does the universe come from

The universe isn't eternal. It was created by a explosion and it will go out as every explosion does, it will contract to its point of origin and become nothing. All that was needed for its creation were the materials, and depending on what you believe, they either magically appeared out of absolute nothingness or there was divine intervention.

If the world IS made because of explosion, then how can everything be so perfect. For example... Have you heard that if the Earth was moved a millimetre nearer to the sun, everything will be burnt and destroyed. If the world is moved a tiny bit away from the sun then everything will be froze to death... So there must be a creator and that is God

Erm... I was simply replying to his question as to how the universe was created and how... I beleive the big bang to have been a tool God used during the creation.

of course there is a god and a holy trinity too of course. Many scientists have looked at the bible and proven it true. All the cities in the bible existed and have been proven real, the evidence is there, the ark was found, 99.5% of the bible has been translated and been declared correct. What about the other .5 percent you say, well they haven't been able to properly translate that part.So yes, God is real and the bible is the evidence.

I believe in deism. For those of you that don't know what it is, deism is a theory that states that God created the universe, but created natural laws to let the universe govern itself. I feel that God creating everything by himself is a bit of a stretch and evolution doing the same is one as well. In my opinion, both aid each other and fill in the inconsistencies the other theory has.

I'm a Christian fatalist. I don't believe in pantheism, though, or that God is omniscient. Evidence from the bible strongly suggests against both. If God were omniscient, then no one in the omniverse, not even God, would have free will.

There are many religions in the world, if you are one of the believers, you will think ur religion is true and our God is true. All the others are idols. Choose your religion now... remember choose it wisely. Mines Christianity.

i dont beleive in god mainly because ive never had a reason too. nothing has greatly affected or helped me. Ive never heard a voice or seen any being or whatever.

You don't have to wait to see him face to face to believe...Jesus says that we have to believe without seeing, many saints haven't seen him face to face, they discovered him in other people (specially in poor people), that's what, appart from other things, make them saints...The reason to beleave is that he's your God and he chose you to be here...you were born because of your parents..but God chose you..not your parents

All the major monotheistic religions are merely gigantic conspiracies by the Illuminati to subtly control our way of thinking on a massive scale. Imagine what they do with that sort of pow-*ssssssssss*They're on to me!! There's a weird yellow gas coming through my window, it's-Uurrrrrhh...*hits keyboard with thud*

The free will we experience is the ability to make decisions and change our standing on subjects. Since we have no control over the flow of time we can't alter our previous decisions, we can only alter the dispositions of those affected by what we have done. God has free will, He also has the ability to restrict his omnipotence to make existance in itself, well, fair.

for all of you who dont believe in god,i dont even feel sorry for ujust wait until u dieand as some people said the odds of everything that happened are like a google in 1god is almighty and ruler and creator of everything in the universe, i am his slave and everyone else should be as well. There is only ONE god.oh yeah and for all of u non beleivers, say hi to the devil for me and tell him he sucks donkey, i hope you enjoy the fire.

ok man i think you proved your point about God and all, but you should be loving those who do not believe in God and not sending them to hell straight away.if you think about it, that in itself is blasphemy if you think about it.anyways to clear up the free will bit, we have free will to choose whether or not we want to follow God and is a result of sin.now to get things straightened out here, we are all sinners and are on the same level, i nor and other christian is above anyone else and yes i do sin, but i have someone to go to when i do.christianity is not the perfect place or position like many misconceptions make it to be.evangelists give christianity a bad name and have made it so the general population believes in something totally different from what christianity really is.as you may be able to tell i am a follower of christ, i will not call myself a christian because "christianity" is the organization of churches in the world and "christian spirituality" is the relationship you have with God.i have posted in this topic before, but until now i have minded my own business because it was so stupid about what people were arguing about that i hated and left it be, but now i have to put my say in.i am not defending christianity because it does not need defending.i respect people who do not believe in Jesus or God because they are people just like everyone else and again WE ARE ALL SINNERS whether you like to hear it or not.i will not try to convert people through this because it will not happen. other people who are quotes "christian" have already tried and probably failed in every way possible. instead of defending God and sending people to hell, we should love them (not couple love, but the brotherly love kind of thing) and through that, it should be their own decision whether they want to believe in God and follow after Jesus or not.i just hope this has cleared somethings up and has put away any misconceptions about christianity.above is the way Jesus Christ/God/Holy Spirit wanted christianity to be and not the warped version that is going around today, spreading like a virus, through churches, evangelists, etc. this is what i strongly believe and follow in my life. your life may be different, but we're all the same.that's my two cents for now, arch :P

God can exist for you if let him. It all depends on how you feel about your place in the world. If you feel small and need answers, then God's for you. You can go to church and pray for a better life in Heaven if that is what you need to do. ---OR--- you can forget all that and create Heaven here by living your life with kindness and confidence with a side of paitence and compassion. Enough people do this and we wouldnt need to go crying to some all-mighty power for forgiveness everytime we said a curse word. WE, the human race, are the almighty power. We carry greatness in all of us, we just dont believe it.

So... relativity? Unless you can live without having to breathe, don't even bother thinking about it being a possibility. The human race is oh-so-far from greatness and being almighty. Believe what you want, but that other 90% of your brain will never be unlocked within this lifetime, but if it has, feel free to blow my head up.

I would like to state my reasons for not believing. One main thing is that there is no real proof, but that is a very bad reason. Another is I believe that all it is, is a story that was made up to trick kids into not doing bad things (like santa clause). It is also a religiong where if you do not belive you are screwed. Now in a religion such as Buddhism it has a saying that I heard awhile ago so it might not sound as good. It is Belive not because a wise man told you, belive no because it was written in an ancient book, believe what you know or think is real.

I don't think it matters if you believe or not. As long as you do good and treat others kindly, God and/or yourself will be happy. So what ever works, works

allah is real...and there is proofislam is the right religion...and there is proofto prove that allah is real, just think. observe your surroundings and ask yourself where all of this stuff came from. it had to have been created. for example...the human body. how, out of nothing, were you able to see. Sight itself is a miracle from allah. and think about how your heart beats in rythm. do you think that it somehow learned to do that on its own. that's impossible. allah created everything out of nothingness. He is the creator, the one, the only. and for those of you who don't believe in him, you will be thrown in hell for eternity, not a couple of days or something like that. FOR ETERNITY. Burning in the hottest fire, be so hungry you would eat your own skin thats melting on you. you would also be fed a spiky fruit. and when you ask for help or mercy, you will be given boiling water. so for those of you who don't believe, believe, or else your decree is hell.to prove that islam is real, I'll use science and some miracles that are on earth right now. many scientific facts have been revealed in the quran from allah so muslims wouldn't have to blindly follow islam. first off look at the stars and how they're arranged. second the fresh water of rivers don't mix with the salt water of seas. third, the steps of a baby's growth were revealed in the quran also. some miracles are:the well from heaven in mecca that has an infinite amount of water in it. the moon was once split in half long ago to show disbelievers the power of allah. and think of the miracle of life also. what drives our bodies to act. and also thought.just look around and think and god willing you will be saved

Best and most accurate post ever. So, 198 pages so far... Have anyone made any progress in this "debate"? Any Gods popping out of the sky to say hello?

Nope, no progress in trying to prove His existance, just progress in pointing out the flaws in atheistic beliefs.

The Big Bang theory is the truth. Not the Big Bang theory you laugh at nowadays, where 2 atoms crash and *BOOM* there's some guy mowing his lawn, but the scientific Big Bang theory. Take a look at all of this Universe's life. At least, all that we know of. You will see that day by day, more and more planets, stars, and even solar systems are added to our knowlege. The explanation for this being, the Galaxy was once a tiny particle, 13.7 billion years ago. The Galaxy was at one place for one fraction of a nanosecond. Then, the heat of all inside this Galaxy caused it to expand. Over the millenia, newer and newer Solar Systems were formed. The Galaxy is still expanding today. There is an edge of the Galaxy, but it is not definite, as it is always moving. Now that I have bored you with that speech over the stars, be enlightened that you have reached a conclusion in the "God or Not" question. ^_^
