I hate it when people say that, because it's so incredibly untrue, and I've seen it like 1239182731237 times in this thread. I understand what you mean by saying 'religion doesn't exist', but religion, in fact, does exist. Perhaps religious dogma is wrong, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Personally, I think it's the other way around. Religion exists to worship a god that isn't there. I firmly believe that religion has outlived its usefulness. Certainly there was a time where religion was quite necessary, just like how rape was necessary to increase the chances of one's procreation. Nowadays, we can all agree that rape is no longer needed, and I hope that soon everyone will realize that religion is also no longer needed. It seems that people abuse other people's blind faith to their own ends, and it would be much more difficult to do so if there were no religion. I see religion as a barrier between all of mankind, and I can't see us having a peaceful world while fanatical religious fundamentalists control the Earth.God exists, religion doesn't.wow that's profound

Which is why I wouldn't be a Christian, even if I DID believe in God. Why would I want to worship an angry, judgmental God, when I could worship a much nicer, benevolent one?I'm a Christian who Believe that some day theres going to be a great judgement over the Earth and all those who don't trust Jesus Christ as their Savior will be cast into the pit of Hell.

L. Ron Hubbard started the Church of Scientology in 1953. By 1982, his net worth was more than $200,000,000.Another thing about Religion that I hate is how it overrides logic. Faith always overrides logic. It is this lack of logic, cpupled with greed, that fuels religion. After all, why would anyone in their right mind put their faith (and money) into a Church based around a book written a thousand years ago by a few guys who thought they could communicate with a devine being? Because they can get something out of it. Eventually, poeple started to believe this schizophrenic dribble and faith started to kick in. A good analogy of religion is from the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Here they believe in a invisible, pink unicorn. Faith tells us that it is pink. However, logic tells us that it is invisible and therefore cannot be pink. Its stuff like that that turns me away from religion and religious people. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind most religious people. In fact I have a few Catholic friends. But I detest people who try to push thei religion onto me. And when you think about it, its probably not because they are selfless enough to want to save me. More likely, they want me to join so they can hang onto me and their church can leech money off me. Mr Ham,attempting Bhudism"I’d like to start a religion. That’s where the money is."

I am quite happy to accept the idea of a creator god, hving considered both teleological and cosmological arguements for his existence it seems more than probable that there is some sort of creator being, however the real question for me is wether on not this god is necessarily good and wether or not he (or she or what ever the hell you want really) is worthy of worship. for example to cite plato's euythphro dilemma, if God decides what is good then surely he is a dictator and therefor not worthy of worchip, yet if he is bound by the laws of good and evil then he is not ultimate and therefor again, not worthy of worship.peace out. BillyNP, im devoted to, I know what you were trying to explain
