Personally, I do not believe in God, at least in the Christian biblical representation. Though, I can't really imagine any sort of higher power. Atheist seems like the proper term for myself, though I don't like a lot of stigma attached to the word. A lot of people have labeled atheists as existentialists, which is completely false. While an existentialist can be an aethist (and most likely is), aethist's do not always share the existentialist point of view. I include myself in that group. While I do not believe in a God, I still have faith. And while faith and belief in God can be very different, they still hold many similarities. My faith allows me to see good in bad situations, and motivates me to work harder so I can be the best person that I can be. I don't think that I need a physical God to do that for me.As for creationism vs. evolution, I tend to bat for the latter. I'm science minded, and it really does make more sense to me. In fact, I find it more fascinating and beautiful than intelligent design. The way that life is able to be created from tiny little atoms is just incredible. People will argue "how did those atoms get there?" and honestly I don't know for sure. However, people are very narrow minded about the age of this universe. From a creationist point of view, our world and the universe seem very young. This universe has been here for millions of years, or more. We'll never know how long. As time progresses, records of the past fade. Who's to say that there wasn't a planet like Earth here before we came to be? There's just too many questions left unanswered by Christianity and other religions, so I like to have my own set of beliefs.

I believe in God. But i can still accept Atheists and peopel liek that. And i do not just ASSUME (ASS+U+ME) That they are evil people or people that believein the big boom theory. What i dont get is that if you believe that there is a supreme God, why would he not affect us?

To me all god is, is hope. And I completely understand why people need/want to believe in it. As for me I lost all hope long ago. Thats not to say I dont believe in a higher being, there has to be something out there, and i hope i can find it. (Irony ftw)

There is a God out there, if ask me. I believe that there is a force out there that affects what happens in the world. God is out there, doing his qwn thing to help the world and its inhabitants,no matter what religion. People out there believe there are "acts of God" and believe them. I think there are acts of God out there, and he's helping us in his own, special way.

I don't believe in a God, therefore, I'm what one could call an atheist. However, I do try and implement some of the values taught in religion. Christianity is a good example. Treating people as you yourself would want to be treated is a start. Ok, I'm not perfect, but I do try and behave respectably at all times. Naturally, anger will flare up and occasionally burst out, but I try to control it quickly. It just seems pointless to have a God who has values which seem to be embodied in a fair portion of society, with or without religion. So no, I don't believe in God at this moment in the space-time continuum.

well its funny becuase there are stories that never made it into the bible and those could have been the "true" stories but some shmucks decided they werent good enough to be in therei think the idea of god and religion exists because some people need a structure to live bysome people would be lost without an all knowing law so they need a godand they need an incentive to follow these rules or eles they will be broken (obviously) thats why satan also exists because strong believers need to be scared to break the rules

I don't believe god was real. However I reckon that lots of the stories in the bible actually happened, but were blown way out of proportion by some randoms. Also, the fact that some of the older stories would have to travel by word of mouth (because writing hadn't been invented yet) wouldn't exactly help with the accuracy. Played Chinese whispers anyone? Imagine that but on a much larger scale.

Nah, too much evidence against, not enough for!

really? care to share what evidence there is to prove god doesnt exsist? im sure if there were alot of it alot of christians would have second thoughts about god. i personaly find that there is alot of supporting evidence that god DOES exsist. ill point some out.im going to start with ghosts. i know they exsist, i have encountered them on a few occasions. now i may not make you a beleiver in ghosts, but if you do beleive in ghosts but not god, then this is for you. A ghost exsists in the world becasue they are unable to pass onto the next plain of exsistance which we call the after life. this can be for a number of reasons but the top two i feel are that something on earth emotionaly binds their soul to a location that they haunt until they are brought to peace or forced out by other means. Then there are your more violent ghosts which we can also call demons. These are your poltergeists. Poltergeists are ghosts that act violently by throwing objects across a room, knocking over furniture or tableware. turning the lights off for no reason, etc. Now, the fact that these ghosts are stuck here and unable to move on to the next plain of exsistance, proves that there IS in fact an afterlife. now in the afterlife, there must be a ruler of that new world yes? That ruler would obviously be God as far as the good side of the spectrum goes. and the ruler of the other side (where demons eventualy go when they no longer haunt an earthly location) is Satan, who resides of corse in hell. Also, Jesus performed many miracles to prove he was the son of God, now while there is no longer any physical evidence to support this and all we have to go on is the bible, i will rely on a different source of proof, one that is not so physical, but can still be reliable from the bible. After the death of jesus, many of his followers were hunted down and asked "do you beleive jesus is the son of God" and under penalty of crucifiction, all of his followers who were asked this question said "yes, he is the son of God." The fact that so many people would willingly be crucified and would not deny that Jesus is the son of God speaks volumes. while we were not there in person to see the miracles he performed, those people were, and they beleived in him so strongly that they died to be with him. If you had ANY doubts as to wether jesus was the son of God and someone said to you "do you think jesus is the son of god? keep in mind if you say yes you will be crucified" you would obviously say no, he is not. but these people did not say no, which just speaks volumes to me... also keep in mind, crucifiction is not a pleasant way to die, you dont die from the wounds or from the loss of blood, you die of suffocation under your own weight. As for people who doubt that jesus ever exsisted, i have this to say. Archeologists (did i spell that right?) have found documents of the roman census from that era in time, and the census makes mention of a jesus of nazarith. So from his birth records, we know he did in fact walk the earth.Thats all i can think of off the top of my head atm, its getting late here, see you all later.

yea, i do.life (for.. everything) has evolved at some point or another, what's stopping some random bacteria turning us into humans?and how come whales can't breathe underwater? fish can breathe underwater perfectly fine, but whales. they had like 5 billion years, but they still can't breathe like other fish can.can god make a rock he can't lift?

Can a rock turn into bacteria I think not. Try putting it into a sterile jar and see what grows. I beleive in God and the Bible because it is a historical record written by eye wittness while other eye witnesses were still living, over a period of thousands of years in three different laungauges, thousands of times and the differences in these manuscripts woudn't fill a page and the differences aren't any major doctural issues. The storys in the bible are of divine intervention and its not man who wrote the bible but rather the Holy Spirit working through them. Archeologist have been trying to dispruve the bible for hundreds of years and yet every time they go to a site to dig and disprove they only discover. What evidence do you have to back up the big bang theory?

I believe in evolution and science, but I believe nature and the universe are far too complex and intricate to not be a product of intelligent design. I believe that some force had to set it all in motion, and for the sake of reference, we'll call it "God."By Wiki's definition I'm a "Deist." Believe in a God, but also in nature and not in religion.

I believe its true. God exists, religions doesn't. Religions are just created by humans... Its like world peace. With religions, its hard to get world peace because we're not together. Indians is one, Chinese is one, and Malays are another. Here's my theory on humans; we're one HUGE family. This is just my theory; i don't know if its true or not. God sent down two humans, and they started a family. The pale skinned ones are chinese, the dark ones are indians and the normal ones are malays. And so the Huge family tree began... Let's say they gave birth to 4 children. Two of them gave birth to another, and the other two likewise... Get what i mean? So the humans start to multiply...

Religions exist, but god I think doesn't.Religions are created by man because they can't answer questions things they want answers. They wanted to know everything, and came up with supernatural things as answers. But since their questions found answers through time, their beliefs changes.Science is a religion.

I AGREE with you.i believe in god and also believe that there is only one religion even though some people pray to other gods .I SAY that GOD IS UNIQUE.there is only one god.the father of jesus , the supreme god of the hindus are maybe the same god? :)

I believe its true. God exists, religions doesn't. Religions are just created by humans... Its like world peace. With religions, its hard to get world peace because we're not together.

i agree that there is no religion .religion is something which was not always there.but god created us and protect us .religion separates human beings FROM THEIR OWN BROTHERS their own race,. for example,i had a ''friend'' or i thought he was who when he learnt i'm not christian, he stopped talking to me. :) <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Have you ever thought why you exist? Ever thought why you think far superior than the animals? And you ever thought why you feel love, hate, compassion, love? Well its just one of the few things that makes God real. Existence is the answer that God does exist. He's just out there watching over us the fallen man. He does not need us, but we need Him. If you're an athiest and you keep on denying the God, think of thid: Even if you deny God's existence, you can never change the fact that God does exist. If you are interested to know about God, I recommend that you read the Christian bible.

Who created God? Why does God exist? Did you ever ask why? All things are meaningless, even if there really is a god.. Why should we obey him if he is really there? Why should we do his will? And why should we keep living? One created the afterlife because they're afraid of death..

I love God my father, the lord of all creation. Praise be to him.You see, to use christians, we dotn care about scientific proof. Some may do but personally i dont. I would care more aobut furthering my faith. Think about this statement. :"Jesus died for your sins on the cross." How does this need to relate to science??? We dont need science(ay least I dont.) We only need to know:God loves us, and we should love him.Who said that Science is the basis of everything and that it has to follow it?Kamatayan, do you not fear death? I doubt that you dont. And we didnt create God, he created us. the afterlife is for everyone, just soem will be living in warmer climate.

There is alot more meaning to religiona dn christianity than there is of evolution.

Not to non-believers. Religion, to them, is usually thought to be nothing more than a bunch of fables to help explain away all the mysteries of life, and Christianity is no different from the others.Learning more about evolution is learning more about how we came to be, to a certain extent. I think it's pretty important to have such knowledge.

I do not believe there is a God. There is, or will be, a scientific explanation for everything, eventually. There is no evidence that God ever existed, only myth and legend. God is referred to as the almighty... What does that mean? Can he choose at any moment to rule our minds? Control the weather? In my lifetime I have chosen to take responsibility for my own actions and if i'm to believe that God exists, how could I do so? The excuse "God made me do it" comes to mind. Humans have shaped this world for thousands of years and are answerable to no higher power.

Same thing to us christians. we dont really care about evolution and it doesnt mean that much to us. Mirkswood, there is a difference between free choice and God's plan. Though it seems liek a paradox, there is a way that both are existent together.

In my opinion, god exists not as a "being" or conciouslness, but as an ominous energy that connects us all, and includes us all. God is the connection between the minds of every human in other words. As for the "god" the christians, muslims, jews, and every other ignorant panty waste believe in is just a cash whore that brings in more money then the drug trade. I think its a great scam they got goin on.
