I agree with Otomo. FF Tactics has the most original concept as well as a story that makes you want to keep going to the next fight. And with the job system, you can customize any character to your liking.My other favorite FF, for story and gameplay is FF6. Very interesting story with almost full character development for all the playable characters.

FFX is my personal preference, the storyline is always fresh for me no matter how many times I play it and the sphere grid makes it harder (and therefore, more interesting) to level up to the max.

I agree with most everyone else. X and XII are the best. X for the story stuff and XII for real-time and new gameplay, background and main story. Also VII just because it's classic and kicks ass.

My favourite one is Final Fantasy X-2 but I think Final Fantasy X had the best Story.

X-2 was bad in my opinion cuz it was nothing like X, X was way better

Final Fantasy 8 hands down. The story was AMAZING! I fell in love with the characters instantly. The whole loner guy getting the girl....relates to me!

I'm playing Final Fantasy XII right now, and so far, I have to say that it's one of my favorites.The grid thing they have going on totally pwns the Sphere Grid from X, the story is good, albeit hard to follow at times, and the characters too, are good, if you can accept how refined their qualities are.

If i had to to choose the most beautiful story from the final fantasy series i choose FFX 10 -2 The song "1000 words " almost most made me cry. The visuals make this story eve more beautiful.

final fantasy 8 had the best story, the most involved story. after that ether ff7 or ff9. then ff4 and ffXII. my opion though.

Final Fantasy 8 has a good story but it kinda slows down near the end.

Personally, I think FFXII has, if not the best, ONE of the best storylines, not in the whole Final Fantasy series, but the whole gaming world of PS2.

i would say x because you became so engrossed in the characters and the fact that yuna was basically going to her death. maybe a little background on the characters might have helped but besides that it was awesome especially the music coupled with the cutscenes was amazing

i like FFXII story and FFIX but, somehow FFX was better, mayb because of the graphic and talking

that would definitelly be final fantasy VII, although FFVIII was very good as well, i'll stick with FFVII, now that's beautiful
