No for pro gamer, there's more to life than just playing games. It sounds good when you talk about it but getting down into reality is a whole different story. However designers are much more lucid with their jobs and I think it's a great way to express your creativity. So I would rather be a designer than pro-gramer.

Pro gamer would be better for me because i already have a great love for games, and a relatively quick reaction time (compared to my friends), but would also love designing games, i jsut have no artistic talent, and little creativity

Pro gamer, if I had to pick one. I enjoy playing final products, not so much creating them.

Like someone earlier, I actually went to school to learn to make games. I love programming and I love games, so why not? Unfortunately, for me the fantasy was much better than the reality. I enjoy taking my time in figuring out some code, and I have a love/hate with debugging, but I really didn't enjoy having to make and/or follow a tight schedule with deadlines and milestone due dates. And being a professional gamer isn't for me. My game interests are far too fluid for me to sit down and spend hours to hone my skills with any single game or game series.Basically, I would have chosen professional game designer, but I've learned I just want to remain a casual designer and player.

I wanna be a pro gamer, since I have a coupla handicaps when going to the path of game programming. But very few people know my true path; my future job as a scientist is not really my choice. When I get older, I wanna be a pro gamer and play lotsa games that I can buy. Oh, yes! I'm not really into programming, since the first thing I learned is how to make a website and use Flash. Sadly to say, I can't apply either skill to my arsenal of knowledge.

Id rather be a pro game designer and get payed loads for it and leave the playing games to my leisure. Also being a pro at games can make them boring very fast as u seem to achieve things too fast and there becomes no challange. To me a game is about the challange and thats what makes it fun.

I would rather be a game designer. As a pro gamer you'd eventually get bored playing the game. I was a pro SSB Brawl player for a year. Made about $110 a week but the game eventually became tiresome. Now I just play for fun. I still go to tournaments and occasionally win a couple of bucks but I don't practice anymore because the game got boring.Being a game designer lets you make whatever your imagination lets you create and thus the boredom factor is diminished. The money is good too ^_^

I would rather be a game designer.Unlike all the games, I could have my name written all over the place in my own game that people play. Also the publicity and money is very good.

Game designer due to previous skill in the field. I think that if you played those games enough to be pro, the joy might be taken out of it. Competition is all well and good, but when it becomes work Im out.

If I had to go with one of the two, then game designer. Imagination, though, isn't always one of my strong suits, but I'd try all the same. Besides, with my luck, I'd end up being a pro gamer alongside without really trying or intending to.

game designer that has been my dream job since i was a baby, even though it will be hard for me to succeed in that job because i am female, but i am really interested in game programming and coding and stuff and i already have a notebook full of ideas i want to create, so for me, game designer is best.

I guess I'd have to be a pro gamer, at least for now. I'm hoping to be a game designer later, but I need to learn programming first. I can play almost anything at at least an above average level, though.

Make sure you try Cheesy Gordita Crunch at Taco Bell. Best taco ever! And cheap to boot!

I'd much rather be a pro-gamer then a designer. I just like to relax and play a game sometimes.

I enjoy games as a hobby occasionally but not enough that I would want to make a full time job out of it. That along with what little I know about gamer culture makes it seem like an industry I wouldn't enjoy.
