I love Fire Emblem games and if it is on the DS that is like 10 times better than it already is Oh yeah Marth returns!!!

I read something that says this is a Japan-only game. I really hope this is not true but there is a release date for Japan and no word of it coming to USA.

My only problem with FE came from something I learned through save-states - that everything is at the whim of the Random Number God. I saved a character from death once by moving a completely unrelated character two squares to the left. Nothing else changed - except the attack that would've killed the character totally missed for no apparent reason. The RNG is cruel.

hmm, how interesting. I've gotta finish my FB:RD first before getting that, lol. Those pictures weren't much but the characters that were shown there... one of them "vaguely" looks like Marth but I doubt that he is Marth... It just reminds me of how I thought Eliwood in the GBA Fire Emblem series was Roy but then he wasn't Roy. He just looked like him. And btw, Marth = more girlish style

I've been waiting forever for this. The first (american) one was awesome, and Sacred Stones kinda lacked. 3rd time's the charm though.

I've been a big fan of fire emblem, and I'm looking forword to the new game, which is a remake of the very first FE.

Apparantly, in order to access the gaiden chapters, a certain number of your characters have to be dead 0_o Seems very un-Fire Emblem

Will the promotions be item based or RD style? I've heard that they added some things from the other games like promotions for thieves and Marth and I'm curious if items are necessary.

For now, it's going to be FE5; there's a universal class change item. In PoR/RD there is a universal, but you also promote at 21 so..Marth can go beyond level 20, and I think thieves will be able to as well.

It's not very hard to figure out, menuwise. There's even a topic on Gamefaqs that tells you the menu. Some brave soul gave us a rom on megaupload the minute it was released.

Well if you have played any of the Fire Emblem games in english the controls are easy to figure out but I wouldent get It because a play games for the story and I don't know Japanese on Chinese (sorry if i mispelt any words)

Oh thank god. I've been a huge fire emblem fan for a while, and have been waiting for a DS one....I is so happy! =DIGN's Fire Emblem DS pageSo now it's confirmed.I link to IGN because they put up links to official media on their site, so there's usually less speculation and rumours flying around, and game developers eem to like talking to them, so you can get the official word on stuff.Anyways, apparently it's a remake of the [Conflicting reports on if it the 1st or 3rd game] game, the one with Marth.As you can see from the screenshots (currently) up on IGN, similar battle animation style, but the story bits in between are now a sort of pseudo-3d.I'm more curious as to whether they'll incorporate all the new stuff from FE and FE: SS on the GBA and plant it into this remake.What are you guys eager about?

Oh gosh, I want this game so badly. The whole thing looks so awesome. Hopefully this means we'll see more remakes in the future (FE4 remake, anyone?).

I was not aware the DS game was a remake, but if FE4 was the one with Roy, I'd be looking forward to that of course! The Japanese version is now out, I might give it a download...I'm hoping for longer gameplay and more classes of warriors.

If you are talking about a unit in FERD, none of them are Marth. Marth is the main character in the FEDS, however. The first American FE (FE7) featured Eliwood, who is actually the father of Roy.@TheFlameAlchemist: That would be FE6. It would be easier to ROM and then patch it.
