Although the R4 is the most popular its over rated and out dated and the R4 team hasn't released any newer firmware yet. There also seems to be alot of Fake R4s and R4 firmwares floating around.

I myself use a M3 DS Real and it great. I have not had any problems with it.

I'd recommend the M3 REAL, the R4 has stopped releasing firmwares from my knowledge, also the new sakura firmware for the M3 REAL will give it a much better interface then the R4, the offical english sakura firmware hasn't been released yet, however there is a hacked version which has been translated by iamanobody, Toni Plutonij, NeoGunKuruma, mercenary96, thedicemaster, AXYPB and Densetsu3000 from GBATemp.I normally get my flashcarts from kickgaming. For a list of dealers, check this site:http://gbatemp.net/i...showtopic=33039

If you can find a case that allows it to fit into the DS phat then it can only fit into a DS lite

Yea, however you'll have to manually swap the cases with the expansion case.

For the M3DS Real owners - I am looking for the image file of the blue top screen (default skin). I cannot find bitmap - is it embedded somewhere else? I am working on a custom skin and want to modify this screen. Thanks for the help.

Your son has to use the download play button on the DS boot screen. I'm pretty sure the M3 real supports download a play because the M3 Simply Model does.

Odd mariokart download play works for me. Pressing [Y] to start your game instead of the start button should make it work. If you still get errors try updating your M3 REAL's firmware here

Download is quite simple open the page i linked to you in my last post.Click on "M3/G6 DS Real"Then select the latest version "M3G6_DS_Real_v3.9a_E30_EuropeUSAMulti.zip" is the latest version at the time of my post.Open the downloaded zip file and you should have a SYSTEM folder put that on your micro SD and replace the old files. You should now be running the latest firmware when u start your M3 REAL.

Although not directly related with my M3 card but the usb adaptor isn't getting recognized by my computer, and the mini sd is in the usb as well. Anyone know how to fix this problem? It worked a few minutes ago and now it stopped.

Does the M3 detect the mirco SD? If not then your micro is dead. If it does detect it, try using another SD reader to read/write data onto your card.

The micro SD gets detected by the M3, I guess the card reader must be broken. Oh well, I'll just buy another one. Also, was there some new firmware out yet that's patched in English and what does it add or problems that it fix (because I was going to update mine yesterday until the thing broke)?

The latest firmware is v3.9a X30. There still hasn't been an official english release in the Sakura firmware yet.

Does M3 real make your battery life shorter? I think it does for mine although it also could just be me imagining things I am not sure.

Well it should. Just about any flashcart will use more power then a regular game since its reading from its external media and emulating the game as well. If you have a the GBA expansion or rumble pack inside it will also affect the battery life regardless of it being used.
