I've played the demo and it was just like when I first played Farcry. This game is more hyped toward graphic that no other next gen consoles can offer (yet). Anyway, I'll be looking forward to the full game. has anyone else tried the demo?

I loved the Crysis Demo, but I had to turn everything down to low cause my computer has a 6800 in it. I thought it looked great even on low, distances weren't the best but anything within about 50 yards looked great.I can't wait till the game actually comes out, maybe they will have tweaked it more to make it run even better.

I Got FULL VERSION :D (ah! the wonders of BitTorrent)Anyhow, I decided to go all out with the settings. I even read up on a neat little trick that allows you to turn on the "Vista Eye Candy" with DX9c in Windows XP (play around with the config files so that high setting has all the characteristics of the vista only "Very High". All the stuff that works in DX9c will render just fine).Anyhow, FMVs seems to be buggy as they run slow for no good reason (I disabled them afterwards) but in-game runs great for me with all settings on. It's not 100% smooth but it's by far playable and audio isn't choppy at all. It honestly looks so good that it's easy for me to forget it's a game but that I'm playing a military video simulation as the landscape used in the game is based on real world locations. Gameplay is fun too as you're given so many neat gadgets to work with such as cloaking and you can interact with the environment quite extensively too. Also, it has a sense of realism too in that when you are badly injured, your vision blurs and your reflexes decrease (can't fire the gun as quickly). In case you're wondering what specs I'm running this on:CPU: Intel® Core™2 Quad Q6600, 2.40-GHz @ 1066Mhz w/ 8Mb Quad Core (Overclocked to 3.6Ghz)Video Card: Asus® ATI Radeon™ HD2900XT VPU w/512Mb DDR3 & PCI Express (Two of these hooked into crossfire)RAM: 4GB of PC-3 14400 DDR3 Dual Channel Platinum EditionOne thing I did find rather odd (besides the unusually laggy FMVs) is my CPU usage never seemed to exceed 50% (I'll have to look again though to make sure). This means that the game is only using two of my four cores which is surprisinEDIT: Yup. It seems Crysis isn't quad core compatible according to some articles like this one. what a shame.

the game is indeed awesome, but just like mightforce said, the game doesn't supports quadcore, that's the bad thing because he's the one that suggest people for using a quad core but his game doesn't support it. shame.

It's definately DX10 compatible BUT using a little configuration trick, you can render all the effects using directx 9. I wonder how many other games will have a neat little workaround like this XD.Anyhow, I finally got full framerates on this thing with all eye candy on. Turning off anti-aliasing did the trick and it still looks as good as ever (maybe even sharper actually).I've also played in more details and the amazement doesn't end at the graphics either. The game physics are also totally amazingly realistic. You can literally pick up any small object and throw it. There is also a great deal of destructable terrain too. You can get in a military jeep and gun down trees to your heart's content and the trees will actually break in the proper spot too (i.e. where you shot them). Throwing a heavy object at a shoddy wall knocks it down like you would expect. I got a massive explosion recently by tossing a gas canister at an oxygen tank. At times it seems to be more fun to explore than even playing the main quest :).

Yes without a doubt. I'd be highly surprised if there's one already out that could match it. Most FPS are purely futuristic and focus on the blow people/aliens up aspect only (e.g. Unreal Tournament) but this one has a mix between modern day warfare and sci-fi. You also have to use your brain at times too (e.g. when I had to destroy 2 tanks but didn't have enough grenades and rockets to take out the second one and therefore I tricked the tank into going too near a burning gas station (and it blew up just as I arrived with a fresh supply of explosive ammo too :D).

Lol nice. I wish I had a DX10 card to really get the most out of it. My 7900 GS probably isn't up to playing this game on max.

Check my earlier post on the first page. In contains a link to a page which shows you how to enable all the DirectX 10 eye candy on a Windows XP machine using DirectX 9. I've tried this and it DOES work and look just like it should on DirectX 10. Keep in mind that you need a very high performance PC if you expect to get a decent framerate especially with these extra effects on. So you say "My 7900 GS probably isn't up to playing this game on max" and therefore even though it'll look nicer it won't be as enjoyable unless you don't mind frame skipping during intense scenes. I know I'm not too fond of frame skipping in an action game because it makes it very difficult to aim while you're being shot down by enemy fire.
