which do u prefer, a quick easy game with a saddly short story line like trace memory. or a game that you need to invest some time in like final fantasy. in other words what makes a game too short, and when does it become too long?

Both are good, depending on your mood. I like games which are mostly combinations of mini-games, that have a lot of end content, so that you can play them in short bursts, but there is a lot to do to utterly beat the game. Warioware, for example. It's all minigames, but there is the objective of getting the gold crowns for everyone, and that, I think, is fun and/or rewarding.

I prefer longer games. It annoys me when I invest good money in a game to finish it that day.I want something that is going to last me.

i think longer gams are alot better. i mean its a great waste of money (watever ur paying) to have a game finish in one day. like wats the point of it after that, wen ur spending a fair sum of money on one days worth of game time. whereas with longer games u get more wear out of them and can actualli enjoy and "get into" the game, if u know wat i mean. hmm, but long games with combinations of minni games and stuff, are pretti gud. cos ur gettin alot of game, and wear out of it.so in conclusion a shorta game is not a gud game :)

If the games are short, I would be expecting other stuff it has like mini-games etc.If possible, the best games would be an ultra-long 50-hour ones with the storyline expanding to that. Hopefully it can be on DS. The FF12:RW is probs 13 hours or so.

i reckon a short game is good for instance cooking mama when u just want to pass some quick time for instance during recess or somethingbut then a mixture of both is nice coz u might actually want to get into games that are more challening and that's when a couple of days or weeks are nice \. lolz though that's if u have PATIENCE which i somehow lack :) oh well all good

for DS, i prefer games which is easier to play regardless is RPG or not. so long less text, more gameplay will be fine for me.

I'll say this; if the game can be beaten in a short amount of time, it better have a reason to keep making me replay it. Either there can be multiple ways or faster ways to beat it (SMB and SMB3), or there can be a ton of extra things you can earn and an additional hidden mode (Star Fox 64)... stuff like that. If it is just a boring linear game that you beat once and throw away, then I don't really see the point in it.

my opinion is a short game is a boring game.Depends on the game.cause i got Lost Planet for the 360 and i beat it in one night.it took about 5 hours. but i beat it.it was pretty short.i like the fun, longer games. cause they always keep you in suspence.i preferably choose MMORPG's. cause. they just keeeep going.

I think longer games are better, because you can't beat that in a night, you must progress and learn the story as long as you advance and it keeps the 'end suspense' longer.

Ah, now here's a fun topic.Well... a short game doesn't mean it can't be fun. Length shouldn't hinder gameplay. Some of the most fun games I've ever played have been short. For example, flash games in general are short, but often times they are addictive and fun. If a game is too long, the player can sometimes feel tired of the game and want to quit. Length can be a touchy subject.Often I find, it isn't the length I judge by, but gameplay and plot. Now, in plot, I've beaten a Megaman Zero game in a day or so, but I find the plot to those are extremely interesting. For gameplay, well, two word: Katamari Damacy. Katamari had no sense in the game, and it was extremely short, but it's gameplay and music made it extremely addictive. In conclusion, I think that length doesn't really matter, it's all about content.

It really depends on how good the story is. Metal Gear Solid games or Shadow of the Colossus were really great games even though I beat these games after about 8-12 hours. I replayed them of course with higher difficulty. Overall I can say that I prefer short games over games with a long story.

a game that controls you means that it is an incredible game. i love games that have a million things to collect or you ahve to level a lot in. the only really good short games are the ones that are incredibly fun because they are just amazing, or ones with really high replay value
