I have a Macintosh now, bought it new and have used it for almost four years now, it's served me well. I think my next computer will be a cheap windows machine to serve for a few years until I have the money to get a brand new Macintosh.

Ubuntu(Linux) is the best mainstream easy-to-use Linux build that can do pretty much everything you need. The biggest thing that Linux lags behind in is the games which is why i am currently dual-booting XP pro. I respect mac but i hate proprietary hardware requirements so i have stayed away from it.

Up until the iMac G4, Windows was by far the strong competitor. But recently Macs have become the must-own computer. I just made the switch last month and I have to say I am pleased beyond belief. However, most of the gaming I do is either classic or console - meaning I have virtually no need for a gaming PC. Although many games are made for Mac, I mostly bought mine for grahpic/web design and music. Creative stuff.I've never really tried Linux, although my friend swears by Ubuntu - I just found it clunky and sluggish. I don't necessarily mean that in terms of speed; perhaps I'm swayed by big screens, simplicity, and high regard for aesthetics. I just think Linux is not my cup of coffee.

Mac is actually a lot better than Windows if you know how to use it. Well, in my opinion.Linux is probably better than Windows too, except I think it looks ugly.

Windows is the OS of choice for me. You can do basically anything with it. Even things that mac can AND cant do. My second choice is linux, though not many programs are compadable.

Wrong. There are a lot of applications designed for Linux, as well as many program which have been ported over to Linux. There are also many ways to Windows programs (WINE, VM,etc).

I'm currently using Ubuntu 8.4 and it's much better than version 6 which I used before. The only thing that's wrong with Linux is the lack of games. >_<

I use Windows XP on my comp and I sometimes use my mom's comp which runs Vista.Don't ever use any Linux nor OSX. Wouldn't mind using them thought.
