No WAY!! They say that people not buying cd's ruins the sales and doesn't reel in enogugh $$ but look at them THEIR FILTHY RICH!!! And it saves us like what about 500$ a year at the least. I think that the artist shou8ld look at the world more closely and see how much people save by dling music offliune and not haveing to buy like $15 cd's... Post youre opinion

Yes, because the company's won't get any money otherwise. But who cares? Almost everyone downloads music so it doesn't really matter...

Well downloading a cd is basically the same as shoplifting a cd from the store. You would think shoplifting is illegal right? Well then downloading music is too. I still download music anyway but I do think it should be illegal.

Companies won't get their money?!?!?Boo-freakin-Hoo!!!Maybe if companies weren't so motivated by profit, they would start hiring genuinely talented musicians again.

Well if the record companies don't get money then they will stop making records and then you won't beable to download the artists music any more.

as a response to the title, downloading music without permission of the owner of the original material with exceptions like educational purposes should be illegal. well, thats just what i think

I think it should be illegal. I mean they work hard, and make the music, then they should get compensated for it. Sure theyre filthy rich, but thats because they worked for it. If it wasnt illegal, i would definitely download music, but its not right.

im not sure about anywhere else but here in canada, as far as i know it's legal to download them of the net (limewire, kazaa, etc) but if you sell the cds then it's illegal.there's really no way to stop it though. just think one person buys an actual cd, they want to share it with their friends, so what do they do?....... they create a thing like limewire or use something like that to share it. there's really no way for the government to stop it all, because when they shut one down (like the old napster) then one more will just pop up.there's my two cents :o :o

go HERE to advertise you shops for the ibrpg. safe and out of harms way to advertise.

go HERE to find out what clans there are to join for the ibrpg or if you want to advertise your own. STOP posting topics about joining them :D

join clan: DEATH FROM ABOVE. we're one of the larger clans in the ibrpg and still growing with active members. we will accept anyone from just starting out to a veteran player. i will not pay you anything for services, but any items and money we have in the clan are yours to use freely. btw, we basically have infinite gil because of our shop and generous clan members. myself as well as several other clan members can make anything for the ibrpg and at no cost to you. our clan will make it so you have the best clan experience in the ibrpg. the only things required are a pm to me (archangel) with your ibrpg character's name and a willingness to play :D
if interested, please send a pm to me with the character name today and enjoy all the benefits that a clan has to offer.

are you a ibrpg player just starting out and strpped for gil? well if you are then just pm me and i'll help you out a.s.a.p. just let me know the amount you would like and i'll see about getting it to you.

ALSO *a special THANK YOU goes out to everyone who has helped me in the ibrpg so far, without you guys i probably would still be back at lvl 10, so THANK YOU all*

Yea, umm, last time I checked it was illegal. But who cares? I mean, if a song comes on the radio and you record it to a tape/cd, isn't that free f*ing music? I mean they must know its going on by the ammount of CD-RWs being sold. Yeah, like people actually have stuff to legaly do with those. People use them to copy games, copy cds, burn movies, and where does this all link up to? File sharing! So they know its going on they just don't care cuz they know they can't stop it. N'uff said.

I agree with Shiro Amada, music should remain downloadable only if you actually pay for the song.

If the artists today suck, then don't download their music. That's one problem solved.Artists don't care as much about their music downloaded as the record companies. Notice how the record companies are the ones who sue everyone. It's because artists sell the rights to their songs to record/producing companies. For example.....Black Cereal makes a CD called Crack the Safe. They meet up with Goldman Inc. and settle on a price for their music. Goldman Inc. pays Black Cereal $1.7 million for the rights to their CD. The artist gets $1.7 million. Now as for the CD sales, all the money made off merchandice goes to Goldman Inc. CDs, T-shirts, action figures (it's possible). All of the money made off of that goes to Goldman Inc.That's basically how it works give or take a few details.

Nicely said.Filesharing and downloading music is the exact same as taping songs off the radio (Ah.. back in the day), albeit a more high tech version. The only reason it's 'illegal' is that greedy fat cat corporate monkeys have found a market they can exploit to no end.... and now they're annoyed people are finding a way around their total monopolizing of the market.Well y'know what?......... SCREW 'EM. :P

I was never really against it, but I sort of think its funny. I mean, if downloading music is legal in Canada, which country is losing more money? Canada or the States :P. I don't complain.
