F$%k no! Especially if you're paying for it with a program like iTunes or Napster. I use Bearshare, but only because my [personal] income rate is too low to spend a dollar on a song (I make money by doing chores in my house). My money would go away fast. Maybe I'll use iTunes someday...but for now, I get my music free  .

Anywho, I say it shouldn't be downright illegal. I say that the artists should choose. Sometimes this is the only way for small-time bands to get noticed.

Thast what sites like purevolume.com and myspace are for. Theres this band Kervin, they've put their whole EP up for free download, thats 11 tracks and there real good.

Yes. Why? Because no matter how rich they are, it's still stealing.

I don't think it should be illegal, because there are many cds out there that may be popular, but people can't really afford buying awhole bunch of cds, teens don't really make that much money.

I'm a teen and I make plenty of money. I own close to 80 CDs. Only people that don't get jobs and sponge of their parntrs can't afford CDs. Work for it, it makes listening to them much more enjoiable.Cds arn't that expensive, if you go to the big name stores then yes, CDs can be around £15-16, but if you shop on the net or find independent stored there much cheaper, usually around £10. Heck, the shop I go to has CDs from £5. Thats a bargin.

Yes downloading music should be illegal. It is stealing no matter which way you look at it. That being said, I'll still download music regardless.

Um, a lot are just saying no, I think because you guys are downloaders yourself and don't want to get caught. I, on the other hand, says it should still be legal. I mena, I download too freely, but I also delete them after I finish listening to them after a few days. I read that this sort of personal use, listening and deleting isn't illegal, but hey, don't look at me.

Um, a lot are just saying no, I think because you guys are downloaders yourself and don't want to get caught.

From a distant place, far, far away. One could hear the desperate screams of Locue the Downloader and his twin brother Tocue the Roamloader!"LOCUE! IT'S THE FEDS! WE'RE DONE FOR!""No sweat, my dear brother. They might catch us, but alas! They will never have our collection of J-Pop music and scat porn! Ignite the dynamite! We shall destroy the evidence!"No, seriously. There's a lot of good guys and girls around that really don't download stuff they haven't earned.

I, on the other hand, says it should still be legal. I mena, I download too freely, but I also delete them after I finish listening to them after a few days. I read that this sort of personal use, listening and deleting isn't illegal, but hey, don't look at me.

That's a laugh. If you don't own whatever you're downloading, it's still illegal even if you delete it right away. You're on thin ice, sister! The feds will crack down on you, for sure!

Seriously I don't think it should be illegal. I mean they make so much money already just for writing a song and dancing to it. That is the simple life, yet there are men that construct a work of art such as the empire state building, and all they get is 5.25 an hour maybe a little bit more. I mean come on isn't that a bit out of line. So I don't believe in buying CDs anymore. And ontop of that to go see a concert it costs anywhere from 50 to a 100 dollars and sometimes more, just to see something once? its ridiculous. Maybe its time people start thinking things through.

I don't think it should be illegal. I really don't care if the musicians aren't making any profits. They usually make awfull songs when their music is motivated by money anyway. No one is FORCING them to sing for a living. They can get another job, like everyone else usually does.Of course downloading and selling music is unethical. You're ripping someone else off. You should cheat other people like that. It's not illegal to rip people off thought.Edit:I've found most music selling today is a piece of dung anyway. I usually only download oldies that are hard to find in stores.
