the cops have no real way of catching your donkey download the music so there really is no point if its illegal or not

yes and no... i mean yeah they lose money from the work theyve done... just think about it this way... if you were to produce a music cd... would you rather someone buy it so you could make money or would you want some to download it meaning youd lose money.... and then no cause... alot of bands nowadays suck balls... and i usually download music to see if its worth buying... dont wanna waste my money...

Of course not... altho d/ling and selling full CDs is wrong in my eyes, d/ling and making a CD for you personally isn't doing any harm to them. I mean, thats all i do nowadays is mix CDs up and listen like that. I'm doing no harm, and i still support the artists by buying a CD when i can.

IMO, everyone probably should have to pay for music, because it IS someone's product, although intangible. *However*, what the record companies are charging us is ridiculous. Services like Rhapsody and Napster are starting to get it right, by letting people upload unlimited songs to their iPod or whathaveyou for a flat monthly fee, but we still need to see the individual download costs come down a lot in price. I think that as an artists becomes more popular, his/her music should become cheaper. That is , a new 50 cent album should cost about as much...(and that's all i'd be willing to pay for it).JB

Thank god many people have realised the truth. PLEASE KEEP OPENING YOUR EYES. Cd's are very expensive. and then I hate those Cd's that come with like three songs that are awesome and then the rest are just total crap.

Hah, of course not. I mean, look at these famous musicians. They ***** about losing a million due to p2p programs...but what about the 99 millions that still go into their pocket? As long as CD prices are that high dling music isn't something bad(anyway, how should I know if the album is crap or not? Watching the Video of one single song of the album on MTV can't tell me if the rest of the album is good, too). But I still think that you should support smaller bands, who really need the money.

I personally buy and download music. For me personally I think they should look more at lowering the price of the cd's. seriously i don't know anyone who wants to or will pay $15+ for one or two songs. that's stupid!!! maybe if they thought more of lowering the price of the cd's or making better music that more people what to listen to more people would buy instead of just dl it.

Downloading music is definitely a step up from the days when you had to go to the store to buy music... and they had like no selection. the download scene still sucks pretty bad though... they need more JRock :gay2:

I wouldn't expect the artists to actually have that much money. Most of it goes to the recording studio.

Intellectual property is a strange thing in our economy. If everyone downloads illegally, it's going to do damage to us as a nation.

Of course, after all....all music artists are rich, and they can just offer their music for free. Because after all, it's not like they're doing a job that takes hard work or costs a lot of money or anything.

They make money FROM there CDs? Duh? If everyone went around downloading music and not buying CDs. Many stores would get out of business and the singers/bands will go broke. Unless you have to pay for them. Also do you reckon they will pay to record music videos and record there Cds for the fun of it? No.

i think that it should depend on what the artist wants. cause a lot of people i know in bands just want to get their music out and don't care how. Other people in less popular bands NEED the money to keep playing.

I don't think it should be illegal unless you sell it after d/ling it. I d/l a lot of music, but I usually go out and buy the albums even if I have the whole cd d/led. I like album art and saying that I have the cd.

yes downloading music should be illegal. if someone is working by making music that entertains people, they should get paid for it. i think most of the money should go to the artists instead of the publishing company, but if all music was free people that make great music wouldn't get rewarded for what they do.

Yeah its illegal, but it would be better if they just give money to the singers then the sponsors should also give money. While they do that they could even advertise.
