it is a possibility but considering it has tons of support and a pretty big fanbase not very likely in this generation and if it does die they will proboly ethier make a spinoff or new hit rpg series to follow up. but when you think about it final fantasy has sepret kinds of series. like every time its a totally new game (excluding the follow up games like x-2 xiii-2 xiii-3 and etc.) and it kind of dies and reboots itself in most of the mainstream games like it isnt even the same game as the last exept for some of the enemies items jobs and of course the moogles and choocobos but that is just my thinking as a big overthinker and huge fan

The only way it would die would be if something happened to the company, but the games are very big and have a lot of fans, so i dont think it will. they made a mistake with FF14 and they got it fixed and now there is FF 14 reborn and again fans are jumping on to that. I got FF7, FF8 and FF9 for PS1 years ago and recently i got the games again on PSN, so i have paid them 2 times for the same game 
. they also have those games for mobiles, so they are making money from the old games and new ones, so there is no reason why the company would not make FF15 and beyond.

I think it's just going through a rough patch at the moment (in regards to FF XIII and its sequels). FF X is probably helping it get back on its feet a little.

I think it will, totally screwed itself over by making ff7 which was well too ahead of its time and now they don't have the money to make a game anywhere near that standard.

I hope not. I'd hate to be a gamer in a world without FF.
Faves were 6, 7, 9, 13.
8, 10 and 13-2 were pretty good too. I replayed 1 & 2 on iOS and loved them!
C'mon, FF is awesome, despite its ups and downs.

It is not about whether or not Final Fantasy will ever actually "die,"
It is about there existing a game of such superior quality in story and gameplay where the title of Final Fantasy can be slapped on it and nothing changes.
What's happening with the new games is that the developers are focusing more on graphics and visuals and not really doing much with gameplay mechanics

final fantasy makes some of the best rpg games. I hope that they don't ever die. also i'm hoping for some remakes although it doesn't seem very likely.
