Oh please don't tell me! Is "Each" and "Every" 2 different people. So that means 2 people have taken one so there's 73 shields left. I'm guessing this because Each and Every have their first letters capitalised so I'm assuming it is the names of 2 of the men.This is probably one of the wierdest riddles I've seen.

Ah... upon closer analysis, I think I spotted something. I don't think the answer is an actual object or anything like. I think it's a little trick one. It's taken me a good long time to come to this conclusion but I still don't think it's correct because I don't think it fits everything but here goes:The answer is the letter "E.""I am the begining of everything and everywhere." Everything and everywhere begins with "e""I end anyplace." Anyplace ends in "e.""All you see, I end that as well." See also ends in "e."That's about it. I don't know how it matches the other things but there you go.

EDIT: Sorry AG. I just remembered that I can not take the micky out of other people's answers. It wasn't that bad but I've still removed it. It's just that your first answer is very sensible but your second answer is somewhat funny.Anyway, I was thinking along the lines that one would have a FOURThough it could even be AG's first answer.
