I agree with everyone who says Zelda II was the hardest. The sheer number of keys / locked doors made some of the higher levels extremely confusing / time consuming.

the original zelda for nes, playing through it the second time. i believe that was the first (and maybe the only) game that had changes to it playing a second time through other than increasing enemy stats or adding a dungeon.

i find majora's mask pretty hard cuz although u can go back in time you have to go back to where you were last and redo everything and i find it hard to figure out exactly what to do and where do go, sadly i need a guide to figure out what to do and where to go, however once i figure it out its easy but thats only temporary.

Ocarina of Time: Master Quest is the hardest in my opinion not because of difficulty but because of some of the dumb puzzles such as having to slice an opened chest to open a door......(makes no sense at all)

I would have to say Majora's Mask, even though Zelda II was extremely difficult. Windwaker was just easy...the only way that anyone would call that game "difficult" would be if they haven't played any other Zelda games. I haven't played master quest though...

Zelda II Links Adventure is by far the hardest and in my opinion the worst Zelda game ever made.People have commented on it being the black sheep of Zelda games. Well I think it deserves it.Windwaker was so totaly easy I couldn't believe I actually sat and played it all the way through. It took me around two days of almost nonstop playing to beat it but I thought it was just way to easy.Zelda :link to the past was realy challenging as well. Most peopls think this one is easy but I dissagreeit may be on the SNES but the ROM is hell. Zelda: Links Awakening has to be the second hardest Zelda game.Level seven was really hard, so was the inside of the Windfish egg. That last boss was tough the first time through. But man when I finally beat that game my brain threw a kegger and invited all of my subliminal freinds. They got so wasted.Er, I mean, what subliminal friends. Anyway Ocarina was pretty easy as well the only Zelda game I haven't played all the way through is Twilight Princess but I would lke to.The original Zelda is my game! I know most of you are going to call me a liar but I seriously beat that game when I was three years old.No joke. I mean seriously it's not like I had a lot to do when I three so I played my NES almost religiously. Even though I couldn't read I had my mom tell me where certain objects were (she was totaly addicted to that game too) but I did beat Ganon all by my self. Not to toot my own horn but uhh, toot toot. :P

I'm surprised people had difficulty with OoT including masterquest. Zelda II was the hardest imo, but I guess I underestimated OoT's difficulty.

Master Quest was difficult, but I found Majora's Mask quite hard too, because of the 3 day thing-a-ma-bob.

I never even knew there was a WW master quest..I'm gonna have to look for it.Anyways, the hardest one (that's not a hack) is OoT master quest, even though it wasn't as hard as I expected it to be.The hardest (hack) Zelda that I've played is Paralell Worlds (I just started it today, so I'm only going on what I've heard) and the one I made :PEDIT: nvm, I read the post I was replying to wrong...I got all exicted about the idea of a WW master quest...:/

I'll say that I was stuck on the Forest Temple for a while, but that's all.The original Zelda was easily the hardest IMO... and given the reasons why (mostly having to do with how primitive the game was), that's not a good thing. I haven't played Zelda II, but A Link to the Past is next in line on the difficulty scale otherwise.
