I happen to be a fan of both (having played through FF, Kingdom Hearts, Rockman Battle Net., etc.),and of RPGs in general, but I'm leaning towards real-time. Not only is the strategy element there, it tests your reflexes, dexterity, and skill as well.

i liked kh 2, my reasoning is that i couldn't put the controller down with kh, , ff12 it seemed like i only got around to play it when there was nothing else to do. The turn based gameplay in k2 was awesome.

well im not gona base it off of one gamebut still i like real time rpg betta becauseit proves more challengeing and makes my mind work betta. turn base games to me are all to easy because it give u more time to think everything over, but in real time it makes the game more fun, exciting, and more intense.

Turn based it gives you the time to think about a strategy. With real time rpg's I often ignore things like magic and summons, because just bashing the attack button is easier.

I like turn based. It more thinking and you can't dodge to attacks by running out of range. In Kingdom heart for some bosses you jump on their back and you can keep attacking them with out even being at risk of being hit by on of their attacks.

Realtime is nice.... if it really was realtime... somehow even though they call it that, there are attacks you cant even dodge...

I prefer the real time battle systems. Although Final Fantasy XII is a mix of both and I think that worked out pretty well.

While I like FF games more than KH, I love real-time battling faaar more than turn-based. It's just more fluid and immersive, and i'd like to add that I want this on top of no random battles.

I prefer real time. Turn based is probably for those who prefer thinking and have patience. When playing games I often have neither. I also have a habit of button mashing >.< and that usually doesn't work too well in a turn based game.

Neither is better IMO. They're both good in their own ways, and are both enjoyable. I put real time because i've been playing those more lately, but I don't like either one better.

I definetely like real time RPG's better than turn-based. I can't, however think of a "true" (free roam) RPG that is real time on the PS2. The last one I clearly remember was back on SNES.....Secret Of Mana.
