Real time battles are awesome. I like to get into the action rather than plan out my moves in a mathematical form. Sure both require leveling up but I like the style of real time battling since it relies more on skills than with luck.

I would prefer real time, in turn based, it's just pretty slow, but in real time you could just run away with having to press the command.

It depends on the game. I think real time wouldn't fit to Final Fantasy. Turn based wouldn't fit to PC RPGs like Baldur's Gate either. I don't prefer a special style. It just has to fit within the game.

I choose turn based RPGs, they make me rest a bit in fighting.

It truly does depend on the game if anything. Some games need real time, while others need turn base.

I prefer turn based RPG's but i really want to play FF XII and i know it is kind of real-time now, so maybe it'll make me change my opinion!

i think reali time is better, it makes more sense to play to the clock and seeing how the time of day effects the looks instead of only doing a mission at a certain time....what if you want to do it it night for stealth or daytime for a clear view?

I think that Real-Time is much better, but Turn-based lets you plan out your next move, in Real-Time if your hurt you need to run away heal and go back to battle, which isnt always good because it can damage the rest of party

I prefer REal time because theres always action and you can go evrywhere and jump on evry thing....I think the battle system of final fantasy is strarting to feel boring at times... oh welll

I prefer turn-based RPG, because you have time to plan out your strategy during battle, whereas in real-time RPG, you have to think on your feet and act fast, and I make reckless decisions when I have to act fast.

I definitely like turn-based combat better for RPGs. It gives you time to think about your move & strategize. If you don't have time to think about what to do, you just have to jump the gun & possibly miss an opportunity to take the enemy down more skillfully.

Both of them have their advantages really, I mean turn based systems are fun just because you have more time to think about what you're going to do, and your not in a rush. But real time is nice because most of the time if you're like me you level up beyond where you're supposed to be and your teamates can usually take care of the dirty work =P.
