My local library has been stocking manga for years now. Although it's not a very large section it is still there for people to read.

Manga and Anime exploded into the American culture, with it being recognized as something kids, teens and adults can all enjoy at their own level. About 6 or 7 years ago was the first time i saw Manga in a library. It wasn't a large section then but i could tell a majority of the books were checked out because of all the cluttered mess around it. However, during that time most of the manga's on the shelves weren't checke/ordered by the librarians themselves because some of them i did find inappropriate for the ages there (EX: Parasite and Video Girl Ai and a middle school from 6th - 8th grade). Expect Manga to stay as a section in librarys for a long time, if not permanently. I find this as a good thing as it recognizes that Manga is a form of entertainment and education, whether it's from learning from the experiences from the characters in the book, or the entire plot line in itself. I've learned a lot of words and has helped me better communicate with my peers when i was younger just by reading Manga. You'd be surprised on how much comics have influence on any age.And yes, there is manga at my local library.

My local library started renting out manga about a few years ago, but its still pretty small. The one by my school has a bigger selection, but I'm not sure when it started. My middle school got manga when I was in 8th grade. But they mostly had FMA and other obscure titles :/

my local library has manga. It's nice to pick a random manga off the shelf and read.Especially when most of the manga I read is on the computer screen, it's nice to read it in a more traditional form.

Most manga are in the YA fiction section...I think most have had manga since the late 90s. It's pretty neat, although being library books, the manga are usually pretty worn out.

My local library definitely has no manga. they're only available in bookstores. I prefer reading them online though. It seems more convenient.

I've never seen manga in my school library, but the public libraries in my area all have manga. They usually have a decent selection. However, as far as anime goes, I've seen only a few DVDs of some random volume, and never more than one of the same series.

At my local library (where I work, actually) we have a few old issues of Shounen Jump, which I'm almost positive were either requested or donated. Our county library has two floor-to-ceiling shelves for manga.

My local library has some mangas, though they don't add anymore. My school library does not have manga, but has comics.

My local library has a small collection of manga and anime. The manga gets stuck on the same shelves as comic books, though. It does make sense when you think about it.

All of our libraries around town carry manga. Our school library as well. I am also the president of a club dedicated to fund raising in order to buy more manga for our school library! :)
