says most of it here.but i'll be a little more specific.1) know where the Battle Rifle, Plasma Rifle, Rockets, and Sniper Rifle spawns on every map. *go into forge and go onto every map and check the respawn times and learn where spawn points are and this also helps on learning the map.2) trial and error on it seems to work best, bc some sites are based on certain settings, plus its easier to remember if you learn it through experience rather than reading.3) Don't bother with it. Learn instead to just aim for the body. As was in the first halo it requires a little bit of a lead to hit anything in halo 3. In that sense give yourself a little "aiming room" when targeting a moving target. Say about half an inch on screen depending on distance.4) Get a mic, use it only to listen in on where certain individuals are on the map, its alot easier listening through your mic than it is through the speakers of your screen.5) people will do their own thing at the start of the game. Watch what they do and see where your opponite's go as well because many individuals will do the same thing, make sure you avoid having the whole team in a certain area, it can lead to early disaster.6) In halo 1 this is wrong, in halo 2 and 3 yes this is very true. However, also remember that there is always a fight going on for the sniper rifle. Nine out of ten says the person with the sniper rifle is already on the run trying to save their lives from your teammates. Also learn grenade physics. if you have a feeling about a corner throw a grenade and try to bounce it so it lands around the corner *easily done with practice* most will actually jump back and become visible on the MS.7) agreed. heck avoid jumping all together unless either a plasma grenade or a brute nade is at your feet. And another thing about going for cover. Never go for the possible cover if its more than 20 feet away. IOW don't go for cover if its so far away that you're an easy target to get hit anyways. If this is the case than weave back and forth and try to charge. Here's something important to remember, a sniper rifle has only 12 shots in it 4 in the clip 8 in stock. getting them to waste those shots is one of the best things you can do for your team. DO IT.8) once again learn where all the entrances are in a map to a certain area and learn how to switch back and forth between those spots to prevent ambushes. Never assume the person behind you will defend you, always be ready to guard your back. Now my own list.9) Learn to "Scan" the screen when ever you have a brief second to do so. *Scan = look over the entire screen* - This maybe confusing to some of you, but the more experienced players do this without even realizing it. After an engagement with an enemy there are a list of things to do unless another enemy is spotted. 1) reload your weapons, 2) "scan the screen" 3) *is done while doing 1 and 2)* now scanning involves moving your eyes in a certain pattern while still watching straight in front of you. My pattern goes top left, bottom right, top right, bottom left. What i've just done is looked over how much ammo and grenades i have left, looked over all four corners of the screen for any enemies and glanced at my motion sensor all within a tenth of a second or less *depending on how fast your eyes scan*.10) Never assume your safe. This is a big one. Most people i've played halo with, most when on a team assume that they're teammates will cover them. This is only true for a very limited portion of all players *excludes MLG players* Always be ready at all times to protect areas that are "choke points" once again the importance of knowing the map comes in here. Learn where spots are where it looks to be secure and try to find ways behind or in without being noticed. 11) Avoid vehicles. i smile whenever i see a group of people running to a vehicle. Yes, you may get a few free kills, but what happens when that vehicle is gone? or you get lasered? I make it a habit to personally seek out the laser just so i can nuke people who think that vehicles are safe from fire. It results in a free double or triple kill.something else as well.Currently i'm a lvl legit 40 in lone wolf, just to prove the validness of this information.Multiplayer:1.) Learn your maps: know where every weapon is, where every corridor goes, everything.2.) There are some good sites on the 'net that gives the number of shots needed for each weapon before you can successfully melee.Ex. It takes about 3 shots with the battle rifle to bring the shields down to melee. Less if you hit the person in the head.3.) May i suggest learning how to no-scope with the sniper? Basically try to keep the sniper at head level. Don't use the scope. Strafe left or right if needed to, and be ready to melee if your shot strikes only the body. Don't waste ammo. Sniper ammo can be valuable. Remember, practice makes perfect.4.) Get a mic, and get plugged in. Communicate with your team. If you join a clan, that might even help more. Learning to battle in multiplayer with the same people can help you build an effective, strong unit.5.) This kinda ties in with #4: Develop a game plan. Assign different people to go after different weapons, etc. Be prepared.6.) Think tactically. Dont follow a person directly into a room. Chances are, they are inside, around the corner, waiting for you to show yourself. Find another way. Use elevation to your advantage. Also, think about what weapons you are caring. A shotgun and an pistol are pretty worthless in a wide, open area with snipers about.7.) If you find yourself under sniper fire, DONT jump. Jumping is predictable and any sniper worth his grain can follow your parabola easily. Instead try weaving and heading for cover.8. Remember to constantly be on the move. Camping only works in some situations. Staying in one spot lets your opponent know where you are, know your fields of fire, and gives him/her the option of coming in different entrances with a plan.Ex. Take the multiplayer map, "The Pit", for example. Many players camp out in the room with the sword. A common way for opponents to attack is to throw grenades through a little hole in the wall, and rush in with their teammates, while your shields are drained. Usually this ends up with the camper dieing.
