Well what most people don't consider when training is that its better to train against a level 1 rather than a level 9. If you play against lvl9s you develop bad habits that don't work on humans so you would have to combo a level 1 rather well. Beat a level 1 computer 4 stocks under 45 seconds and you are pretty good.

I'm at least decent.......does anyone go to ssbm tournaments? or know what a "wavedash" is? -_-

A Wavedash is a advanced technique which allows your character to move about 1/60th of a second faster :gay2: by pressing R or L on the control pad just when your about to hit the ground it also requires you to press diagonally left or right in conjunction with the R or L as soon as your about 1cm off the ground hope that helps. :gay2:

I can confidently say, that I'm close to being (if not the best) at Melee at my college.I play as Peach, Samus, Dr. Mario, Zelda (Sheik to a lesser extent), and Jigglypuff. My Peach is unbeatable and my Samus is sort of a n00b. I make random weird mistakes with her.I don't wavedash, and I don't do any of the other fancy tactics, because I've yet to have a need for them.Plus, Peach and Zelda (my mains) their wavedashes are abysmal.

a PRO is a person who has mastered all techniques (wavedash, perfect strikes, etc) and mastered ALL charecters (link, etc) I am not a pro, I am a "advanced" player (can't master damn wavedash XD)for all that don't know what wavedash is i'll teach REALLY QUICKLY how it's done: hold down-left/down-right, y/x, R/L i use x and R cause its easier for me...

Question: How do you define a ssbm pro? I've had the ame for 5 years, and I still play it every weekend. Are pros those people who use those special techniques like wavedash? (i don't)But if a pro was someone who used those techniques, then i'd say im almost there.

You're not pro unless you play like or almost like the players in the video that was posted. All of you claiming to be pro because you can use every character definitely does not make you pro. Anybody with half a brain can use all the characters.Actually, the definition of "pro" is somebody who does what they do for pay. Meaning, if you're the best kid in your neighborhood, you're by no stretch of the imagination a pro. That said, I do not consider myself pro and I have no problem admitting that. Sure, I'm very good, but I will probably never stack up to the greats like Ken.

i reckon any1 can excel at ssbm, but i don't think you can be pro unless your 'crowned' by gaming officials or something else on global scale.as 4 me, seeing as i've never played it, i'm definitely not pro, although i reckon i'm good coz i can mop the floor on the other two hehe

I've gotten pretty far in it, (well, at least compared to others who own it) but I don't really know if I'm a pro. I stopped playing it a while ago.

I'm not bragging when i say I'm a master of SSBM. I've beat Classic & Adventure mode on very hard with out losing a life and got all the level & trophies. I'm fairly good with anybody when it comes to Melee but I'm truly incredible with Ness, Dr. Mario, Link, Young Link and Roy.
