A Clockwork Orange (Anthony Burgess) and Lolita (Vladmir Nabokov) are my two favorite books. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Ken Kesey), L'Etranger (Albert Camus) and The Glass Castle (Jeanette Walls) are all very good too. Anything by Augusten Burroughs or David Sedaris is pretty much golden. Kurt Vonnegut is good. Truman Capote is my favorite writer, but I don't think very many people are into reading his stuff. I think that's it...

Black Boy by Richard Wright is a great book.i know some classic titles can be discouraging to read, but if one feels ready to read them, they can prove to be very good!like the odyssey by homer, which is a bit repetitive, but nonetheless a great epic.the catcher in the rye by JD SAlinger is a good book also, i especially enjoyed the ending.

You must read The Black Book by Orhan Pamuk. It's his best book and an utter masterpiece. It's unbelievable that a book so good can be written these days.

i would suggest a book, 'The Way of the Warrior' of the Young Samurai series. It is the first book made by Chris Bradford, and his next book is going to be published next year. This book is very exciting and entertaining, and it was so exciting that i hardly put the book down. Buy the book; you will never regret it.

If your into semi-realistic fantasy you might want to try out the Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud, which has a very interesting outlook on what magic would be like in the near modern society. Or another good fantasy, more of a female orientated book series, there is the three novels by Libba Bray, the first being "The great and terrible beauty". Then there is the more well known series of the His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman, most people would just recognize the first novel "The golden compass". This book is excellent and in my opinion far better than the movie they made, either way I would suggest that anyone who hasn't read them yet do so, and if possible read the books before seeing the movie. They are all good series, that were in my opinion a pleasure to read.

I really liked "The End of Alice" by A.M. Holmes. It's about a pedophile in jail and his story and encounters, as well as a nineteen year old girl who writes him letters in admiration. It's rather twisted, but quite the page turner...
