first time i got live was the 30 day trial. I played halo like i never did within those 30days. after it was finished i just had to get more! LIVE IS EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!

Of course its worth it. I dont have live and probably wont be getting it any time soon either. I still enjoy the games just as much because I cant still play multiplayer when my friends come over.

most of the games i have r solo anyway so ti would be fine, could also solve the problem of dial up users not being able to get all achievments in most games

Without live it more or less cuts out half of the perks of the 360. Yes, you can still enjoy single player games (and there are quite a few) but a good chunk of the games have online capabilities-- and to put it bluntly most of the games are much better with multiplayer. Games like COD or HALO are worth a lot more as far as gameplay goes when you have the ability to jump into an online match and play with other people, you get more for your money. And sure, you have to pay with live instead of it being a free service like PSN or the wiis online but you get what you pay for-- amounts to about 50 bucks a year but it's at least 10x better than the other online services.

life without live is awful. At my college, they restrict internet access, which means I can't even connect to the internet, nevermind the 12 month gold Live subscription I bought.Live is a must

I really like live i think everyone should get it. I mean every now and then you will want to play a game by your self but when that moment is over get all your friends on and start killin people.

I wouldn't say having live is truly necessary, but it depends on what kind of gamer you are. The last base I was at, it was near impossible to get any kind of broadband connection so Xbox live was outta the question. Best was to link the xboxes and do multiplayer that way.

i second that haha. i hardlyplay any games tthat arent online. and all the updates there are usually make the game much better. espicially sports games. ROSTER UPDATE!!!!If you've never had live before and you dont know what its like than get one. But if you had it before than it sucks losing all of that player interaction. The 360 experience is made ridiculously better with live.

Xbox 360 was made all arround the online interaction. Why else would they give you 3 free 1 months for just buying a console. Online multiplayer on game consoles is the best thing that has came to the consoles. Also if you dont know how to access the 3 free one months. Go to one of your regular accounts, click join live, sign in and everything and choose free account (silver) and it should say that you have qualitfy for a free 1 month gold membership. Accept it and finish filling out a few more fourms(some are not nessary) and you will have a gold account. Then when that runs out make another and keep having fun.

The 360 has allot of good single player games and is well worth it if you can't get the internet where you live. However the ture essence of the 360 shows when you play it online. If you do not wish to pay still get it connected to the internet so you can get updates and demos.
