So, I'm barely getting into the DS genre of gaming and need some help as I've missed out on alot of releases. I am a BIG Strategy-RPG fan (Fire Emblem, Stella deus, etc...) and have been searching for some good ones for the NDS, but have not found anything promising. Basically, what do you SRPG fans recommend that's a MUST-PLAY on the DS (or GBA...getting an R4 )? Any pointers and directions will be greatly appreciated. Thx DGEmu-ees <_<

I think Megaman Star Force and Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings are the 2 must-play DS games.

What I'm really waiting for is the English FFTA2. The 1st game (GBA) was great. Also, Days of Ruin is on the way and Advanced Wars has always delivered. :)

I noticed you said you were gonna get a R4,you do understand that you can only play ds games with that right, you wil need a slot 2 solution if you want to play gba games aswell. As for the topic :Lost magic(partial strategy),revenant wings, advance wars dual strike, hoshigami, luminous arc.As for the future,a new advance wars game is coming early next year, fire emblem (no idea when that comes out) and ff:tactics 2 (no idea either).

@mononon- The topic tagged included RPG's only, and I was really asking for SRPG (as i prefer them over regular RPG). Why did I get a warning?Sertturk- Thanks for those suggestions, im surely looking into them. I bought a EZ-flash 3-in-1 as well, so GBA games are ready to go. I am getting FFTA in there FO' SHO' XDCoulourfultoy- What does "SRW" stand for?Everyone else- I've played Advance wars on the GBA, and it was fun, yet not really RPG style to it. They jsut give you a map, some weapons, and a mission, kill your enemy. No developing of characters and such are availabe, so I really don't fancy it much.Front Mission DS, I have not heard of it at all. If it's similar to Advance wars (which looks like it is), then I'll prolly be dissapointed once again, but I will try it out and be optimistic and positive about it ^_^I was not aware that FFXII revenant wings was a SRPG, is it? And YES, I am excited about FFTA2 as well, that's probably going to be the new SRPG standard for the DS and I only hope for more....a Disgaea game would not be a bad idea for the DS either..o well...Thanks guys. Anymore?

Wait. There's a Fire Emblem game coming out for the DS? I really want to know what it's going to be, because I love Fire Emblem! Favorite Tactical RPG series, next to Super Robot Taisen.Final Fantasy Tactics... not so much. I never understood why there's so much of an uproar over that game. The least they could have done was make a seperate battle resolution screen.

I want to play SRW. But I can't find the US version, and I can't understand japanese. As I know, the one and only SRW US version is just for GBA. It's stuck with the license thing when comes to USI think Luminous Arc II (US) s worth to wait

I'm pretty sure by Strategy RPG, he means the whole grid-based fight your characters and level up and get abilities system.Since you're including the GBA as well...-Final Fantasy Tactics Advance-Final Fantasy Tactics A2-Onimusha Tactics-Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis-Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings-Front Mission DS-Disgaea DS [When it comes out!]That's about all I can think of. Zelda, Advance Wars, etc. are NOT SRPGs.

Doesn't Pokemon count as Strategy RPG? I mean, you take turns in battle, like a standard RPG, and you have to make a strategy as to how you deal with you opponents' weaknesses and how you use attack wisely etc etc. Even though the game really doesn't require a lot of thinking and it's not that hard, it still fits into the criteria of SRPGs, am I right?
